A bit, but not much. Actually those two are the only ideas that have non human characters as stars. The most of them are pretty much more... "normal".

Like Mitsuru Kanna, the Hidden Blade of Saratoga.

Interesting idea.

Mitsuru's a very antipathetic kid that was born with synesthesia/ideasthesia, so everything around him becomes a flavor. And he hates anything sweet because he can't tolerate sugars. The sweetest thing he can stand are apples, which he eats almost all time. He also likes to see confused and terrified because it tastes the same as an apple for him. He accidentally found and unlocked a sword, the Saratoga Claymore, that can absorb energy and gives him the basic powers of a Superman (faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, capable of jump over a building in a singe jump).

The backdraw is that absorb too much power with his sword can overdrive him. Good thing is that he, by being so hateful of the world, can actually force the sword to release whatever power it absorbed as a blazing shockwave. As an extra, he's pretty sure he fell in love with a Hot-Blooded kendoist named Aoshi, which is the reason why Aoshi is the only person he doesn't want to kill.

Anybody else, he might be on a killing spree if it weren't that the lousy spirit of the sword's former owner, captain Saratoga, is bugging him to fulfill the destiny of the Saratoga wielder, the Hidden Blade of Saratoga.
