Dropping main pages and keeping discussion page to a watchlist

I read a page* to find out if there was a way to drop the main page from my watchlist. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=12944370960A40357100&page=1 The problem is that the answer given is the one I have already tried, that is to say, to just drop the main page. But when I drop the main page, the discussion page gets dropped as well. There is no way to add the discussion page back without adding the main page, defeating the point of removing it in the first place.

Separate watching has been asked for, although I seriously doubt the benefit. Locking here thus.
