Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their X-Men related stories here.
Discussions that are only about X-Men adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.

I have to say that the X Men franchise has been going on for decades. Maybe not as many as the Superman franchise has, but it still has quite a number to it.
One thing I am certain of is that the franchise seems to be subverting Status Quo Is God in recent years. Magneto and Professor Xavier seem to be fading into the background, with Cyclops and Wolverine taking their places. A lot of villains associated to the X-Men have been killed off and have actually stayed dead so far.
All this gives me the general impression that the franchise is trying to reinvent itself. Do you think that's what's going on here?

Yep. Which leaves me wondering if Bunn is going to break up Laura and Warren so that he can rehash something that got stale back in the '60s. I mean, what's he supposed to do? Not have a love triangle in a book that Jean appears in? Madness! "Love triangle" and "Phoenix" are the only stories Jean should ever have, obviously. Can you imagine a book where Jean hangs out with the guys as just friends, without them jumping over each other to win her favour? Clearly, that's just not an option.

They tried putting Warren with Laura and now resurrecting the Scott/Jean/Warren triangle and gave him cosmic powers and they still can't making him interesting

Have they ever tried to just, you know, give him an interesting personality? Give him an actual character, as opposed to just having his wings amputated/turning him into Archangel/ putting him in a relationship with Psylocke/ giving him healing blood/killing him off and reviving him as an amnesiac/ having his teen self fall in love with X-23/etc and hope something sticks? Just a thought.

There is potential for Warren there, the last time I saw it brought out was actually the Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon about his relationship with his dad and it did carry a subtext of him being privileged, rich, and handsome and yet being seen as freak. And then on paper, him seemingly like the perfect representation Xavier would want for mutants, but him going with Scott as team leader instead. There's ample stuff they could do with that in regards to a personality.

I mean, it's the same reason people found classic Jean boring apparently, since she's mostly known for dying all the time (which she's only done twice).
Note that I'm talking about Classic Jean, not Teen Jean. We've already had a discussion about her, mostly consisting of how people dislike her.

Anyway on Angel, to me he is a character with a potentially great story that is wasted. In that let's look at his two defining character traits: he is the son of a very rich guy and he became a horseman for Apocalypse due to his inner rage. A story could of been formed from this related to Warren growing up under a controlling rule from his father who would rather keep up with public appearance than his son's happiness. Under said rule, his dad force him to hide his mutation in anyway possible until he sends him to Xavier Institutes in hope that he will be "cured". Because of all of this Warren holds a deep resentment that he bottles up and tends to be closed off from everybody.
As Mega J said, Wolverine and the X-Men did went that route in the show in regards to Angel's character.

That's a pretty good base for Angel; another way to work on him is to re-establish his role in the O5. As stood way back when, he was a weak Lancer to Cyclops's Leader, and his connections to the others didn't seem as strong. I wouldn't mind if they re-established a rivarly between he and Cyclops without bring Jean into it.
I just realized Warren is a good looking rich guy with a super powered evil side who goes by the name Angel. Sounds just like a certain vampire who dates a girl who answers to the name Summers.
Now I wish Whedon had used Warren in his X-Men run.
I'll concede that Frank Miller's Daredevil was darker than "Spider-Man but older" but other than Born Again (which is still an optimistic story about good triumphing over evil) it's pretty standard superhero fare.
And no amount of Mike Grell will match boxing glove arrows. Green Arrow the smack talking liberal with endless scorn for the fat cats is best Green Arrow.
Back to Warren; either way, dark, mature storylines that push the character forward are different than taking a lame silver age knob and turning him into a psychotic murderer with deathwings and a super pretentious grimdark rename.

Why do they seem to mistake comic covers for in-story moments? That's NOT how Dark Phoenix died...and way to inject the line with love and hope by showing Scott's affair with Emma..
So as of X-Men Blue today it looks like Mach-2, Derek Morgan, Armor and Quicksilver from the Ultimate Universe also made it to Earth-616 as the new Marauders.
I like that more and more of the Ultimate Universe characters are starting to pop over.

I know he was fake killed off in Ultimates 3, but then turned up alive in Ultimatum.
Well whatever reasons to keep me permanently here I guess. As long as their existence isn't endangering anyone.
