I don't think Baldwin could do Aku. His Iroh was okay, but that was a much more low-key role. You can't have Aku without the ridiculous, over-the-top hamminess.

I think that someone like Geoffrey Rush would make a good voice for Aku.

Oh yes. Rush can do hammy and make it seem awesome.

I don't see the point. I thought what most people wanted was resolution to the old show in the form of more episodes or an animated movie.

[up][up]A successful live-action Samurai Jack would boost the franchise overall, possibly even leading to a new animated season. The cool thing about that possibility is that when Samurai Jack premiered it was basically before television had embraced the idea of Story Arc; nowadays instead of a slue of one-off episodes they would probably have longer, more epic stories.

The big problem, sadly, is that Mako is gone. Who can do Aku like he could? Maybe a reboot or a spin-off (featuring The Scotsman maybe?) might be better than trying to revive the series outright without its beloved' antagonist around to menace Jack.

Or have Jack finally find a time-portal, but its actually a wormhole, and it takes him to Equestria.

[up][up] Thank you for your insightful contribution to this discussion.

I think I'm going to have to watch The Fall one of these days, just to confirm whether I can declare Tarsem my favourite hate-subject in the topic of film.

The Fall is a good movie. Tarsem seems to be best when he writes his own scripts.

The idea of more Samurai Jack in any media makes me wanna spaz out, but two things:

1, it does make sense for Samurai Jack to remain in animation, since that's where it started and it's easier to pull off crazy stuff in that media.

2, there is no replacing Phil LaMarr, Mako, or John Di Maggio as the voices of the characters in my eyes, even in live action. They would have to find the best facsimiles possible (while still being good actors, we don't want another Supernatural the Animation situation here) for the movie to stand a chance with the fans.

I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting Agency
