And the best solution is fading.
I'm not sure what you mean by that. The Occupy movement never "solved" any of the issues and was not going to. The "solution" it generaly advocats is "better regulation and tax codes" which can only be done through the government. That is why I say we should see what happens over the next couple of months before declaring whether it failed, succeded, or even completely went away.
The verry fact that news articles are still being writen about it on a regular basis proves that it has at least some staying power.
Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!Okay the best solution at getting people aware is fading.
The moment the media stops covering it, the moment people stop caring.
What makes you think so?
Short attention spans.
^ And the incredibly high unlikelihood that OWS protestors will vote.
Tom, we've been over this; the movement included more than just students. It included mostly middle class Americans who are now highly motivated to do anything that will improve things, including voting.
OWS will need to do a lot of things to remain relevant. I'm hoping that it has an effect on the primaries of both parties.
That said, this Occupy Our Homes thing is the perfect goodwill strategy. Fox can talk shit about them all winter long and there will still be voters with memories of the strangers who came in to keep the bank from taking their houses away. You can't buy PR like that.

Dutch LesbianI'll believe that when I'm shown election results. But historically such protestors do not vote regardless if they are young or old, black or white, middle class or dirt poor.
The election will show if I'm right or wrong, not your statements.
Historically, no protests have had the demographic mix now represented by the OWS movement.

@Tom: historically they dont vote because the polls tend to get rigged so theyre not allowed to.

@Tom: Yes, of course protestors don't vote, which is why the Tea Party candidates were universally rejected across the board in 2010.
"Roll for whores."The 1960s say hi.
And look what happened there, Tom; the Civil Rights and the Voting Act. People achieved what they wanted. Granted it wasn't perfect due to social inertia and bigots remaining bigots, but by damn those protestors achieved something.
Oh they achieved something alright, but they didn't do it via voting. OWS is the same way with none of the strengths the Civil Rights movement had.
They made it politically unprofitable to continue being a bigot. This also included exercising their voting rights. OWS can make it politically unprofitable to continue favoring the corporations like the government currently does.
That's all I want, if that's a start!
This is where I, the Vampire Mistress, proudly reside: http://liberal.nationstates.net/nation=nova_nacioGuys: OWS should definitely put some occupations in place to halt the Keystone pipeline construction. If the movement wants to win support in America's rural heartland, that'll be the way to do it. Someone start tweeting this.
I Support. One way or another, the rich/corporates ruining my country must pay!
This is where I, the Vampire Mistress, proudly reside: http://liberal.nationstates.net/nation=nova_nacioThe Civil Rights Movement also took 13 years
It was an awesome, yet challenging and painful 13 years worth fighting for (and I'm black myself, so I know). Either way, something like this that goes to war with poverty and wealth inequality needs to emerge yet again.
NOW.

^^ All that means is that there is a problem that needs to be solved.
