A moderator note that any discussion about the sexual implications of crossdressing, or having a fetish for doing it or observing it or encouraging it, should be taken to the Fetishes thread.
This is also not a thread to express one's disgust or distaste. Such posts will be thumped. If this isn't your thing, don't post.
That said, carry on!

Not all crossdressing is for the purpose of passing, though. It could also be for the purposes of subverting gender expectations, or simply because you like to.
A brighter future for a darker age.I have a question, how is non-sexual crossdressing defined?
Dutch LesbianIs there any particular reason why you haven't tried it? I mean, I know I haven't because I lack a steady enough income flow to afford to buy my own clothes, and my parents don't want to get me any dresses... Or, any other women's clothing...

I have been known to attend parties in a little black dress if the invitation is carelessly worded, just for shits and giggles. My wife thinks this the funniest thing ever.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Oh, I see. Makes sense. I mean, my parents were kind of weirded out when I told them about it, but either they didn't believe I'd actually do it, or they'd be fine with me doing it... Quite possibly both...

*crossdressingfive*
@Inverurie: I'm reminded of my senior prom, where not one but two couples swapped outfits halfway through the night, and a close reading of the rules of prom meant the Principal* couldn't do anything to them.
I've never given serious consideration to cross-dressing, mostly because a 6' guy with stubble and a belly is not attractive in a dress - though he might be in a kilt.
That’s the epitome of privilege right there, not considering armed nazis a threat to your life. - Silaswedited 9th Jan '13 3:36:03 PM by CompassionateSadist
I don't think that wearing a kilt would exactly count as crossdressing, for guys, since kilts are men's clothing...
I actually had a female friend who did go to prom in a suit...

Yeah, no one made that big a deal about it either... Of course, our group had a MtF transgendered kid who went to prom in a dress, and everyone was congratulating her, so I don't think anyone in my group really cared enough to make a fuss about it, and, if they cared, they were more likely to take her side, anyways...

Oh, I see.
I'm so sorry... *Hugs.*
Actually, kilts are generally menswear. The only time you'll really see women in kilts is if they are members of a pipe band or engaged in Country/Highland dancing.
A tartan skirt is just a tartan skirt, it's not a kilt.

'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'To the uninformed, though, a tartan skirt can look rather like a kilt, even though it's not (completely different cut and stuff).
A brighter future for a darker age.Yes, but the kilt was intended for men, just like jeans were, originally, and my point still stands, wearing a kilt isn't really crossdressing, for a man...

This is like the LGBT thread, except for crossdressing. Discuss away!
