I think it's actually kinda funny that the main reason Van Wrinkle was wrong was just Alucard being Alucard.
"The funny thing is, in any other circumstance, you might have had a point there. Except my boss is a woman, I was a chick in the forties, I HATE EVERYONE EQUALLY, and there is no one alive who could comprehend my sexual preference."

I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serial"In other words... CH-CH-CH-CHECK YOUR PRIVILEGE!"

Secret SignatureGive it time.

Secret SignatureYou say that as if they really care.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987The rants on tumblr show a truly amazing lack of self-awareness.
It seems that all the "Social Justice Warriors" think that Rip Van Winkle was supposed to be the standard Feminazi character. Absolutely none of the rants I've seen have picked up on the fact that she's an SJW parody.
I have a theory. It is that, because of the ability to choose who you follow, Tumblr by nature creates echo chambers. As a result, I don't think the kind of people that Van Winkle was a parody of even know that they have ever been parodied.

Can I get an example up in here?
Here's one, but it only focuses on RVW for one paragraph. The crux of it is just not finding the episode that funny and being annoyed at the use of the word "cunt."
This one is a bit more in reaction to the character, and is a better example. The sixth and seventh bullets are about how she's a Straw Feminist and Alucard was excusing misogyny and male privilege when he chewed her out ("mansplaining").
I never even got any feminazi conclusions, just that she's a parody of an obnoxious tumblr user. Also, if she WAS supposed to be a feminazi stereotype, I think thats kinda clever.
Me and my friend's collaborative webcomic: Forged MenI think this one in particular does recognize the "tumblr" explanation.
This does however raise an excellent point.

I'm surprised Alucard didn't mention his boss was a woman of color in his rant.
Man... even when they're being made fun of point-blank in their faces, the SJW crowd just don't get that they're the butt of the joke.
This is absolutely fucking perfect.

Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I think they recognize it, and it just makes them even angrier.
And, well, know it's about you doesn't actually make the joke subjectively funnier. Shockingly enough.

Actually, nobody in that conversation is getting that it's not about "feminists", but about general "social justice warriors", hence her usage of "check your privilege" and that SJW-term-laden tirade before Alucard rebutted her.
Even when they think they get the joke, they don't because they don't see beyond their own little microverses to see that it's a very unbelievably accurate generalization of everything WRONG with Tumblr.

Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I fail to see how usage of the terminology in a haphazard way is enough to demonstrate the supposed actual problem with tumblr in question.
You have a character using SJW terminology that is also a villain, that gets brutally murdered by our protagonist. I fail to see how that demonstrates any actual issues with the SJW mentality.

They missed a good 'Feminazi' joke.
I'm too tired to come up with a coherent argument to explain it further. Just... do yourself a favor and look up the SJW tag.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Or some kind of Godwin's law joke.
I've always thought Integra was just tan. I never thought of her as a woman of color.
And Rip was supposed to be a Feminazi? I thought she was just a Tumblr/4Chan user parody.
... *ahem* "Fraulein".
