Practically every business in my area is offering free services to veterans today. There's even a local play based on a WW 2 veteran's experiences, which veterans can go see for free.

It's the Independence Day around here. Which means there was a march. There would be no problem, but a) it was organised, of course, by folks one would rather not hold as exemplary citizen, and b) "antifascists" from Germany came up with the idea they should come and teach them polacks some democracy (the irony! cool ). You can guess there was a bit of a mess. cool

I'm not a big fan of Remembrance Day, to be honest. I have absolutely nothing against it in principle, but it always seems to encourage people to be nationalistic, xenophobic, and post hate speech about Muslims on the internet.
