Credits Running Sequence. Or Opener Walking Montage. That's six terms that are likely to come up.
Fight smart, not fair.Usage is pretty low. I could get behind a rename, I guess.
Rhymes with "Protracted."The title is fine. Keep it as it is.
Title is leading to massive underuse and sounds far broader than it is. Rename.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickAlso support a rename. I like Deboss' suggestions.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdMy idea was something like Keep Those Credits Running or Keep Those Credits Walking (as a redirect as there are just as many walking ones as running ones)
Hmm one of the wicks is from Cube X Cursed X Curious which is only a partial example if those count then gd this is way way underused. (tons of series use it such as Ore Imo opening and such) Would those count?
- Dancing Theme/Running Sequence: Elements of both, in a single opening.
Vid of the OP.
EDIT: rereading the description I guess they do.. bah it pays to read carefully.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!And that's just what they'll do! One of these days these credits are gonna....
...sorry.
Support rename and like any of the suggestions in the above two posts.
If you want to rename it, fine, but I am not impressed by any of the alternatives. "Credits Running Sequence" is not much different. "Opening Walking Montage" is incorrect, since it also applies to endings. The trope also doesn't have to apply to a whole opening or ending, only a sequence in it. The other suggestions are just a bit too cutesy, I think.

Well, it needs a rename or it's going to keep it's cycle of decay and stagnation. There's nothing else that can be done with it. It's crosswiked. It's got a good clear definition. Only thing left as a last ditch save effort is renaming.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickWhy would renaming this trope help anything? There are tropes with weirder, much less descriptive names, that get used widely. Maybe this trope is simply not that popular?
Scrolling Montage? Since there's several things at work here, #1, it looks like the camera is panning with the actors, also called a horizontal scroll. Action in the background or foreground is also enacted. The location can vary, and often does. Generally this would be referred to as a montage. There is no word in the English language for "walking or running", so we have to rely on the other two qualifiers for the name. Credits can be opening or closing, so that could be tacked onto any of the name we come up with.
If this name is picked, we may also want Credits Walking Montage and Credits Running Montage.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Seeing as it's used in the majority of anime credit sequences, that assumption would be incorrect. As that idea is ruled out, we're back to the name.
Unless of course you're saying it's unpopular on the wiki because it has a bad name. That does seem to be true. The solution to that one is renaming.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI also see that the picture of someone running has been replaced by a picture of someone floating in space. How odd.
The previous image was not an example. This one of someone running while the credits play is.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickYeah the old one was just a pic of a character running. I put the current one forward because it was the clearest one I had that used English credits and they were running or walking... (got better? make another image picking thread.... 100% serious.)
And the name Running Sequence could mean really anything and do not sound like a stock style of credits scenes.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!But that character is not clearly running; it's floating in space. It probably makes a walking movement when animated, but it's not entirely clear from the picture (plus the character is way too small anyway).
Also, I think you limit the scope of the trope a bit too much. It still applies, even when the walking and the credits don't coincide throughout.
But the trope isn't just anyone running at any time which is what the previous image implied.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickYeah the old image was just someone running (as I said got better open a new thread.)
Anyway crowner? If so which kind?
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Rename first.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickAs requested, there is now a single proposition rename crowner for this trope here.
"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dCalling crowner. Consensus to rename.
I didn't write any of that.
Crown Description:
Previous crowner showed consensus support for a rename.
So this trope is credits (mostly ending credits) where you got a person or persons running or walking in place maybe with the background slowly moving or them slowly passing other characters.
[1] [2] [3][4]◊
Right now the title does not hint at that at all, many don't run at all they walk (such as the ending of Ika Musume S2 and Guilty Crown) making it misleading, As well as it's underused due to the title (added 4 examples myself when I came across it in the Anime Tropes thread I originally was thinking this was something else.). IMO Trope Transplant this to a clearer title with this becoming like a Running Montage type sequence.
This title has brought 31 people to the wiki from non-search engine links since 20th FEB '09.
