I think we already have a thread about this.
That said, the survey came right after he died. I think it's quite obvious why he got more votes than might be expected.

Infinite Tree: an experimental storyThat's rather sad that he's been voted that. It's clearly only because of his death and how everybody is over-hyping how great he is.
Wha... but... blargh.
Why.
"badass" doesn't anything in after used end fail be fine.Because dead = overhyped as I don't know what. No offense meant towards Mr. Jobs, but no, he is not deserving of an title pertaining to an industry he was never even active in.

Yeah, while I get that this is the time to say nice things about Steve Jobs, couldn't people stick to the quite sufficient set of nice statements of him that are valid?
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyWhat was the article writer's opinion (the website, for that matter) on the results? I'm pretty sure even they must've spotted the oddity there.
EDIT: Okay, they do realize that something was funny with the results. And they made a good point too - everybody at the conference were small developers who worked with hardware and software similar to what Apple makes, so it makes sense that Steve Jobs is the most influential developer for their crowd.

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13202864760A86116300&page=1 We do have a topic about this as is. Albeit, it's not named the same.
Quest 64 thread<facepalm>
Goddammit, why do people feel that the only way to make up for a tragedy is to give the victim every related possible reward ever? I have nothing but respect for Jobs, but can't people just give him the respect he deserves without treating him like a saint?
EDIT: Oh dear god, Mark fucking Zuckerberg is in the Top 5? WHAT?!

Requesting a lock now. Go to the other topic I provided. We don't need a duplicate topic. Thanks.
Quest 64 thread
...Over a pair of designers who have done much more than him. Namely, Gabe Newell and Shigeru Miyamoto.
The survey has caused quite a bit of Internet Backdraft, and to be perfectly honest I can see why. Steve Jobs may have invented the iPhone, but he has never even developed a single game in his life. It's a sorry sight, really.
