A) Refusing to stand their ground on issues allows for this kind of thing to happen, so I suppose an accomplice-level amount of blame could go to the Democrats.

B) The root of all this is the rich MegaCorp people who OWN American Politics. It's no longer "One Person One Vote" but now "One Dollar One Vote", skewing policies in favor of the rich and screw over everyone else.

Alternatively... no, I can't think of a way to refute the source or premise. Because it looks entirely accurate.

But look at Scandin[a]via! They dominate.

It's very unlikely that anyone cares enough about the definitions of different regions in Europe, but just in case there's someone out there who does want to know this:

The top-5 in the chart were:

1. Iceland, 2. Norway, 3. Denmark, 4. Sweden, 5. Finland.

These are the Nordic countries. But not all of them are Scandinavian.

There are many definitions of Scandinavia; the most strict one only includes the countries surrounding the Scandes; namely, Sweden and Norway (their border runs along the mountain range.) Denmark is usually included because it's been a part of both Norway and Sweden.

Similarly, Finland is sometimes considered part of Scandinavia because we used to be part of Sweden and our culture is very similar to that of the proper Scandinavian countries.

Iceland is not a Scandinavian country, but it is a Nordic country because it's part of the broader culture of Scandinavia (much closer to the Scandinavian countries than Finland in that regard.)

The most common definition of Scandinavia you're likely to see is one that includes Denmark in addition to Norway and Sweden, but doesn't include Finland.

[up]I include Finland persoanlly, but I don't blame anyone for not. And Iceland isn't geographically Scandinavian, yes, but culutrally it is.

Eh. There a million things we could do to turn the US into a functional mixed economy Keynesian state that actually has the money to spend on making sure people are happy and healthy.

Point is, there's a whole section of the population that thinks all of these things are delusional or the devil's spawn, running the gambit in between.

So, yes, we should have a shitty social justice score. We, after all, really don't have social justice to begin with. We're a Second World country with First World amounts of money... in the hands of a fraction of the population.

On one hand it's nice to see the facts aligning with what you already suspected.... On the other hand the facts are lining up to what you suspected, and what you expected wasn't good at all.

We're a Second World country

Err, America isn't Communist. There isn't really a "Second World" the term third world developed from poor countries not aligning with either power in the Cold War.

PEDANTIC

That reminds me, Eric Cantor was going to give a speech recently about making sure the people at the top stay there.

+1 classy.

Who's Eric Cantor?

Anyhow, I could probably write out a whole nice list of what needs to be done in terms of achieving social justice and equal opportunity in the US, but it wouldn't mean a damn and wouldn't be worth the time and computer space required to do so.

Threadhop: Aww, shit, motherfucker, Australia is only six spots above the US, and still below the average line.

Then again, Australia is quite compulsively rednecked for the most part, so, go figure.

I'd say that ousting rednecks would be the key to a better country, but Canada gave the world Nickelback, so go figure.
