Eh...it's not perfect, but I like it enough to keep it.
I agree. It's not quite emphatic enough, and I think it depends too much on the text.

"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "I think we can find a better image than the current one. Can we use Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic or should we try something else?
You really should've tried to make something of her from the get-go; we're trying our best to discourage "we can do better" threads, especially those that don't have a possible replacement pic locked and loaded.
If you're going to make a thread about this, please have a suggestion for replacement image ready to go and explain why it is better.
Somehow, I knew it would be Pinkie Pie ... the problem with her is actually finding a pic that demonstrates her being Fun Personified, without straying into JAFAAC territory.
As soon as I saw this thread, I knew Pinkie Pie was going to come up. There's got to be a good screencap of her throwing a party or something someplace. Or maybe her prankster getup from the beginning of Griffon the Brush Off.
EDIT: Or this◊.

Reaction Image RepositoryWinner right there.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Darn, can't see imageshack links at the moment
Well, the best single frame I could think of is when she dresses up as a box in Dragonshy [1]◊... however (playing devils advocate here)
Is anyone else feeling slightly confused as to what this trope is about? I've read the trope page, and it seems to be more along the lines of "the funny character in a serious setting" ... which is slightly different to the idea I had reading the trope title as it draws in their context rather than just the person.
Having thought about it, I'm not even sure Pinkie qualifies as an example of the trope given MLP's inherently comic setting, ditto for a few other examples on the page. =/
Edit: I guess my question is, does the trope description need fixing, do I just have the wrong end of the stick, or should we look for a picture that is in line with the current definition? (which would be rather hard to top the current picture I think)
Edit x2: The use of context is also slightly inconsistent with the sister trope "Amusing Alien" which is just about an alien who exists to amuse the audience with its antics.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Oh goodo, same wavelength there then
Holy crap, I think we both capped the exact same frame. Yours is a lot better quality than mine, though; I got mine off youtube.
Reaction Image RepositoryIt's not the same frame. Just very, very close. Some of the little details are slightly off.
And yeah, I like that one.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyMLP Wiki [1]
Shortly after this thread started, I was looking through the trope examples to see what might work better, saw the words "Pinkie Pie", and immediately thought "Welp. That's bound to come up."
And then it did. I think it works.

"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "It works well enough for me.
That's a bit small and cluttered. I think if the first image can get it across in just one picture, we should go with that one.
Reaction Image RepositoryWe will need to crop out the bug, though.
"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "The present pony is fine. I don't know if we need a caption.
Here's◊ a cropped version. Will that work?
Reaction Image RepositoryI can't really understand the description, so I'll just cross my fingers and hope she's a good example, cuz that pic is pretty sweet.

Rhymes with "Protracted."There's just one little problem with this (well, two, but that really shouldn't be taken into account): according to the description, she is probably not an example.
Actually, a character like Pinkie Pie probably has lots of potential good images for this page, but the cropped version of the first one suggested so far will do.
EDITED IN: Or alternatively this version, which has all the balloons in full view.

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartI gotta play the Devil's Advocate here and ask: what about that picture prevents it from being JAFAAC? I mean, yeah.. I get the balloons, the present outfit, the goofy glasses are fun items, but what about it makes her Fun Personified and not just some crazy person with a birthday themed fashion statement?
The current image doesn't demonstrate how the character is considered fun personified. I say we should find another image, the current one doesn't fit the trope enough.
