Not insanely early at all
Okay, my issues:
- Fate Zero: Last I checked, it being broken in two was a rumour, nevermind when the seccond half would air
- Gokujyo: Only listed for 2012. It could yet be announced for winter, or fail to air entirely
- Kimi To Boku: Last I checked, the second season didn't have a confirmed season. Probably spring, yeah, but not definitely
- Medaka Box: No confirmed season
Isn't the second season of Kyoukai Senjou No Horizon supposed to air in the spring?
Follow me on tumblr!Well that's fast, and it's not even Halloween yet.
...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura ChifuyuDefinately watching Zetman, that's for sure.
Watch SymphogearSo there's a part two? Nice.
...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura ChifuyuIt's just... Fate Zero getting split is bizarre when it's been stated to be 25 episodes. Every split series I'm aware either had an unknown episode count or the count for the first part published, never a combined one
Okay, let's test that:
- Fate Zero: We get Random anime blog one and two. The second cites it's source, which is a random anime blog that's going off of a DVD box that could well be a mistake or an odd hoax
- Kimi To Boku: Nothing, as the original announcement for the anime was in April. Searching for the second season gives a MAL listing that does have it in April, but has no sources or much of anything else
- Gokujyo: Well known blog that clearly shows it's source, which also clearly doesn't give an airdate more specific than '2012'
- Medaka Box: A wiki, that links to an ANN article, that gives no dates
None of these are anything I'd consider a legit news site, and only one of them has anything I'd consider as constituting something even resembling a decent argument for it's inclusion

Good enough for me. With your standards, even half of the currently running Fall 2011 Anime Season season would still be unconfirmed. With mine, at worst we will have to take down 1 or 2, a few weeks later.
It's not like I'm putting up anything, there are still half a dozen other series that are known to be in development but there is no indication that they will be released in spring (even though they might be).
By the way, can you read kanji?

Look, credibility is important. Just putting up whatever is rumoured makes us no better than /a/. All I want is an official source saying what season they intend to air it in. I really think that's the bare minimum
A lot of series get announced with no airdate and than fail ever air. Without an airdate attached, the announcements should really be ignored. Adding them to a list like this is irresponsible, especially since people do seem to consider TV Tropes some kind of authority
And you do realize that you're saying that you consider secondary sources blatantly making things up to be a confirmation, right?
I ask again, can you actually read Japanese?
What, there are Japanese sites that confirm some of them?
Follow me on tumblr!Too early to make a list, I tried to find one but meh...

Well, with Hylarn's "no-secondary sources" policy, since anime tends to originate from Japan, only Japanese sits could confirm any of them.
True, but usefulness is important, too. Every other site putting up charts is also trying to be credible, from ANN to MAL, and from Countdown Anime to animeph. And they are good at it. 95% of their listed anime will really air at the promised time. We don't really have the resources to be more accurate than them, even if you can read source texts, most people don't. And our strongest resource are these "most people". It is that in a wiki format, we can give a fluidly updating overview of what anime are reasonably expected to be aired, that can use the input of several tropers.
And we are beter than /a/ at that. When one random wee/a/boo posts a "list", that list is really nothing but rumor. And those tend to be largely inaccurate. Just look at the winter thread earlier, with talks of Code Geass, Kore Zombie 2, Aquarion EVOL, or Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita, that really had zero basis in reality, and no one ever put them up on our list, because they don't fit our standards. Or Rinne No Lagrange that was like them, but got confirmed only later. Or Sankarea, that I accidentally put up, but didn't argue when someone (you?) took it down, because it was really just a rumor, like the others, I just overlooked it.
Where /a/'s methods would promise 40 series, chart sites would promise 32, and your methods would only accept 20, and in the end, 30 gets aired, we should be closer to the middle ground. To err on the side of caution is still an error, and it can be even bigger than on the other side.

I've always considered this site to be authoritative when it comes to upcoming release dates for shows. Granted, there's a lot of Japanese language to sift through (being a .jp site), but if you look for certain key words you can figure it out well enough.
Hold up, Zetman is getting an anime? I'm surprised, that manga is pretty dark and earns it's seinen designation. That sort of stuff doesn't usually get animated.
SPATULA, Supporters of Page Altering To Urgently Lead to Amelioration (supports not going through TRS for tweaks and minor improvements.)Or, you know, ANN. And I'm sort forced to rely on secondary sources, since most announcements are in magazines I don't subscribe to
Except that I've been doing this for all of our lists before this and we've still been 100% accurate, aside from some confusion with Coppelion, which we held on to for too long
the Saki spinoff should be interesting
also Medaka Box because of Gainax
also wtf akb48 anime
I was originally pissed when I heard that the new Saki anime is a Spin-Off instead of being the second season, but I'm looking forward to it now after I read a little bit of the manga.
Follow me on tumblr!yeah that was my initial reaction
i was actually excited for Saki season 2
but cooler heads prevail and i find it will be interesting to see another perspective
LET THERE BE LESBIAN MAHJONG
Zetman looks like it will be one of my new Favorites, Though.
