Well. Now we'll see how Mustafa Abdul Jalil's rule goes.

Heard about this a bit earlier, wasn't sure if he was confirmed dead yet. Good riddance.

Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?

The retards at "jihadwatch" are already lamenting his death. They say he was a good man and the only force keeping "sharia" out of the country. It seems that some people just want to piss all over everything that happens in that region.

Pity. It would have been better if he could have been captured and tried, lawfully.

War is war, I suppose; but still, I cannot be glad of the death of a human being — not even of a tyrant, torturer and murderer such as him.

Well, that's one less problem. Of course, ideally, I would have liked it for him to be captured and put on trail in The Hague, but I suppose that, considering the situation, making it a neat and tidy case of justice would be too much of a luxury.

[up]What he said as well.

Well put, Carciofus.

The difference is the Chinese at least allow enough vague amounts of freedom and dont noticeably and blatantly abuse their populace.

besides, China generally just filters out news about this behind the Great Firewall.

While lawful execution would have been nice, I am glad he had no chance to wiggle out of a noose via First World squemishness towards proper justice.

[up][up][up] Thanks!

Aaand, of course, Italian politicians are now playing at who can make the stupidest comment about Qaddafi's death. I think that the "winner", for now, is Mario Borghezio, the same genius who some time ago praised the Oslo murderer for his ideas. He just said that Qaddafi's death was "glorious" and claimed that he was

Allah's templar.
Yeah.

And he represents Italy at the European Parliament. *headdesk*

Some people would consider an easy death to be a 'way out'.

Golden gun - he really was a real life James Bond villain, wasn't he?

Given how things went on in Libya... This was only to be expected.

I imagined that he would have been *VERY* lucky if, after capture, he managed to avoid being lynched on the spot. It seems that he was not lucky enough.

(BTW, was he killed after capture? Or was he killed during capture, for instance in an exchange of fire?)

[up] Irrelevant: Fucker's dead now.

The official version is that he was shot in the legs during the assault and bled out afterwards.

Apparently he had wounds to the legs and/or abdomen. If he was executed he would have been shot in the head I suppose. My guess is that they caught up with him, he tried to leg it, there was a firefight with his bodyguards, he got wounded, got to the hole where he was picked up and later died of said wounds.

And let us pray that come it may (As come it will for a' that)

Coincidentally, they say he was also shot on the head. Odds are they crippled the dude and finished him off later. I won't complain, he had it coming.

There was allegedly a NATO air strike going on in the area as well, which might have played a role too.

Question is though, if there really were any alliance fighters around, whether that was coincidence or whether they got a tip-off from the rebels.

EDIT: So, NATO confirmed an attack on two vehicles of a convoy near Sirte, one of which was said to contain Gaddafi.
