Just noticed we had a rather threadbare trope page for this, and I've been following it for a long time, so I figured it deserved a thread.
Witch Craft Works is Seinen Urban Fantasy with absolutely gorgeous art and a plot that's intriguing without being inscrutable. It has a fairly generic fantasy opening, with our Ordinary High-School Student protagonist getting saved from a magical ambush by the School Idol, who then declares him to be her 'Princess', and tells him that it's her duty to protect him. Exactly what she means by that and the nature of their relationship gets uncovered as the series progresses.
It's released bi-monthly, with ten chapters released so far. You can find it at your favorite online readers, but the art's great enough that I'd recommend downloading it and viewing it offline. The first eight chapters can be found at Animexis.org.
