Though it may be too much to ask, I REALLY hope, by some miracle, for a second season of this show. I WANT TO SEE TWO-FACE!!! We didn't truly 'SEE' Two-Face in the Season 1 Finale.

I was frustrated by that myself. Really wanting to grab the writers by the cuff and scr- Nah. |D

I was more interested to see if Harvey actually seeing his face would have changed his current personality. He was already going nuts without seeing it.

Also, would have liked to see this show's take on the Penguin, considering he was teased for a bit.

I'm not sure I would have been that interested in seeing the show's version of Two-Face, because really... nothing Harvey ever did in the first season built up to the Two-Face persona in any way (which is why it was so easy to expect him not to become Two-Face at all). I mean, they gave him a more solid reason to hate Batman in the finale, but there's really no reason for him to develop a split personality or a dependance on fate or the coin flip. They never foreshadowed him having any mental problems or darker side, and as Two-Face he just wouldn't have the "tragic, fallen hero" aspect seeing as how he was such a colossal dick to begin with. The only reason why him becoming Two-Face wouldn't come right out of left field is because, hey, he's Harvey Dent, and we expect him to.

[up]I don't know, he was a bit TOO obsessed with Batman for what was supposed to be a publicity stunt. Not to mention he could have suffered brain damage from the explosion. Some people's personalities are affected by brain damage in real life.

It's far from my favorite version of him (only above Batman Forever and Arkham City), but admittedly just to see how he'd look.

A lot of people thought he was under-utilised in the game's story, and I agree. I don't see anything particularly wrong with the way he was portrayed though, just that he didn't have enough to do.

With this show's Harvey, I can understand that he'd become unhinged because of the accident, but the sudden split personality thing just came out of nowhere and had no build-up to it. Up until then, Harvey had just been characterised as a selfish opportunist who now had an additional reason for hating Batman. Having him jump to suddenly being a split-personality with an obsession with duality and fate is just not very good writing.

[up][up]Not just underutilized, but his few lines were corny, the design was over-the-top and not in a good way, and it was pretty much Schumacher's Two-Face. Even the comic tie-in (written by Paul Dini himself) had his good/bad trashy girlfriend bit. Ugh.

[up]Oh ok. I get it and I agree, a more nuanced portrayal would have benefited that.

I always have thought the good/bad girlfriends shtick could have worked if the henchwomen themselves took up to it just because they thought it'd impress Dent. Dent just rolls his eyes at that and lets them hang around because they're useful, but he doesn't give them the time of the day because he only has eyes for Grace/Gilda. Basically, something halfway between Harley and the strictly professional henchwomen of the Riddler.

I had no problems with Harvey's portrayal in Beware the Batman, I liked that he wasn't Batman's ally. It was different. Although I do agree with the point made about the lack of a more compelling buildup to Harvey's transformation into Two-Face. That would've been cool! smile

I wouldn't have minded if he was more like how Gordon was in the beginning: antagonistic and distrustful, but eventually becoming allies. Only with the impostor Batman and the scarring pretty much ruining any friendship Harvey had for Batman, adding a bit of tragedy.

Honestly, Dent in this show felt more like a nemesis for Gordon than for Batman.

Finished the finale to Batman The Brave And The Bold on Netflix.

Wow. Talk about Hilarious in Hindsight, am I right?

Good news, Batmite! There is a darker Batman show…that's 26 episodes long! And has Barbara being Oracle first instead of Batgirl! And has no Joker, but instead Anarky! And Alfred's built like a nightclub bouncer! And initially has iffy animation! Happy about that? tongue

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I have issues with BTB. I'm just wondering how would Batmite react about the changes the show made.

Hard to say. In the series finale, Bat-Mite seemed to be quite the straw fan, but in prior episodes, he seemed rather accepting, from his speech on the various takes on Batman in his debut episode to his gleeful enthusiasm about the likes of Anime Batman, Scooby & Batman, and MAD Batman (aka batboy).

[up][up]I still wish Batgirl: Year One (where the footage is from) got made. One of the few, few times I actually enjoyed Barbara as Batgirl.

Not even Bat-Mite's will is safe from CN's cancellation-happy ways.

Either a new cartoon or a DTV. I'm hoping for the latter. They should do more animation projects besides Batman, and it would be incredibly tasteless when Beware hasn't even finished airing its episodes on television.

Also, in more related news, Beware just got bumped half an hour slot in Toonami due to its good ratings.

If it's a new show, I hope it doesn't start at the beginning again. Have Batman be around for a few years already, already have Dick and Babs exist, bring in some characters from the later years, etc.

[up]That's why I'm worried. This batman looks like he has the lips of the Beware The Batman's Batman with the angular element of The Batman's batman. Even the batsymbol looks angularly wonky to me.

One of the things that's started to bug me about superhero tv shows is that they always start at the beginning, which means stuff that can only be introduced after other stuff tends to never appear. Characters who require other characters to already exist in order to be introduced (or at least to work best), for instance.

Young Justice kind of tried to fix that, but the character development always laid with the original characters so it didn't work as well anyway and lots of stuff was jumped over via time skip.

But then again, what with the New 52 and DC's stance towards adaptations a lot of the characters I'm thinking of probably won't ever see the light of day again anyway.

Well this show was already breaking a few rules by skipping over Batgirl entirely and going straight to Oracle. Since Lady Shiva was in the show, I was also wondering if we'd see Cass Cain.

If it is a tv show I wonder how long they'll let it run before they cancel it.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!
