The fact that the show seemed to get worse as it went along was puzzling. I'd assumed they'd changed writers for Season 3.
I think they got lost and tried to organize the thing the same as a video game.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.The writer for individual episodes I guess they changed around, but they were still following Hino's guidelines for how the story was to turn out.
There's no way that wasn't a Dying Declaration of love.
Its pretty sad.I use to like AGE then it went the Kill Em' All route. Now it sucks. I liked SEED better than AGE.
snerk So, it wasn't just me then? Even in half-jest?
Because it's funny how both the main page AND the character page don't have that particular trope listed.
I always thought the game came first, and the anime was basically advertising for it.

Indeed. However some of those who were actually familiar with the game hoped that things wouldn't be adapted straight 1:1 in the anime. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened.
The sad part? That still makes it one of the better video game adaptations out there. It hurts to admit.
No Myssa Rei,it wasn't just you. There's no way that wasn't Zeheart confessing his undying love for Ansemu.
-watches episode 48-
Well, at least Fram and Obright had the honor of being killed by a good character. I could say the same for Leil and Jonathan, actually. Their scenes were good.
Zeheart's breakdown was so fast I couldn't even find the time to break my suspension of disbelief. Kinda annoyed that the Legilis crumpled so easily... Got affected more by the Diva's destruction than Zeheart's death.
Kio continues to be useless. And where the heck was his stop killing speech when the giant laser cannon of death was firing? -.-
Kio: STOP KILLING, STOP KILLING OH GIANT LASER BEAM, IF WE COULD JUST UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER!!!!
Laser Beam: Fuck you kid, I feel like killing people in massive numbers. Gotta one up my brothers, Requiem and Genesis.
That was what I pictured when you posted that; Kio trying his usual shpiel...to a laser beam.

Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.The finale aired. Gotta say, wasn't expecting Flit dropping his hatred towards Vagan that easily. Then again, neither was I expecting Ezelcant's Shocking Swerve.
Thank god this trainwreck of a series is over. Onto catching up with Eureka Seven AO and watching From The New World and Psycho Pass.
Together, we are one.Dude, spoiler tags.
BWAHAHAHAHAHA, I TOLD YOU GUYS! I TOLD YOU!
Sorry, I can't take this seriously. I'm not calling it a trainwreck, but ah, it was bad. Yep.
Wow, this was the worst ending ever.
Jesus christ.
That ending was pretty touching.
Man, Dorene Ezelcant is just the saddest damn character in the show. I can't help but feel really awful for her whenever she shows up.
That ending... would have worked better if it hadn't been for the badness of the previous episodes. I dunno. There were lots of genuinely touching things, and Commander Giant Hair made the most of his ten minutes of character spotlight (out of an entire series) but. Gave no damns about Zera Gins, wow. What... what a waste of a character... criminy. And of course everyone acts like Kio is the greatest thing since sliced bread in the last battle.

What Amuro said had me chuckling, but the best laugh I got from Uso's critique of Kio.
Because in any other series, it's true: any enemy you spare who you haven't quite brought over to your side of an argument is someone who might shoot you AGAIN later on. That said, I also laughed at Setsuna's rebuttal, as it's ALSO true — in newer A Us, the UNDERSTANDING card is played and often works, usually due to overpowered Gundams.

AGE just seemed to take the worst aspects of the shows before it, especially when it comes to the pacifism thing. Are we really supposed to believe that Kio's philosophy was the way to go when, until the finale, it never worked? Loran did the pacifism thing and made it work because it took effort and nobody else really got onboard. Kira did the pacifism thing and made it work because he had the power to shove it down everybody's throats. Kio does neither of those, and yet somehow, they expect us to care.
As for Flit and Ezelcant and Zira and how it all turned out, shoot me now.
I know it's true, what had me laughing was that both Kio and Usso are tied for the "childest gundam protagonist." and Usso is still way more mature than Kio ever was.
Actually, it explains even less. AGE felt like it was committee'd to death. If not quality, you'd at least expect more consistency from a single writer.
What's precedent ever done for us?
