OH GOODNESS! Pull the picture for the image quality alone!
Made with some random clip art I got off google.

Reason to immediately pull
Poor image quality, doesn't depict the trope, almost Just A Face And A Caption:@Ziki: Not a bad idea, but it's waaay too big, seriously. This is better:

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Lets go with that.
That's not bad, but I lean toward the first one because it has the figure on the stairs and makes the transition a little clearer.

Toying around with more possibilities.

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Now that you mention it, yeah, the original suggestion is still the best because it shows the person ON the stairs, not standing next to it.
Bump...any other thoughts?
Clock is set. Any objections to a size-reduced version of the first suggestion, or does someone have something better?
Go with the first suggestion. Trim it if necessary.
Go with the first one. Trim or reduce as necessary. One of the main points of that sign style is that it doesn't have to be big to be clear.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I like [1]◊ best.
Rhymes with "Protracted."How's this?
Looks good to me.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I dunno maybe he just climbed the stairs to a place where there weren't any more steps.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Hmmmm...the bottom part might need to be tweaked to show the irregular surface where the stairs retracted, like in some of the other suggestions.
I still have my SVG workfile. (Frankly, I'd just prefer it to be black-on-white because red-on-black at that size is distracting.)
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.I wouldn't mind to have it in B/W either.
I prefer this one◊, but modified so that he's clearly on the stairs. (I don't have a problem with that aspect myself, but others do, and it should be addressed.)

The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman. And I can't decide how to position the falling guy◊.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.I like the last one.
"You fail to grasp the basic principles of mad science. Common sense would be cheating." - NarbonicI prefer the first option — headfirst but on his back. Mostly because that's the one of the three that would be most likely to occur if a set of stairs suddenly turned ramp. He's not likely to turn over on his stomach and flip head for heels, or tumble to a head-down, feet-up position. The other probable position is on his stomach, feet-toward-the-bottom of the staircase.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.This one's way past time to close. I put up the first version of Stratadrake's SVG; locking up.
I'm thinking a better image would be a two-parter, showing a character on a staircase and then the character sliding down the stairs-turned-ramp.
