And those diggings tend to go *way* deep. IIRC, the tunnels beneath New York stretch deeper than the skyscrapers are tall.

For the Dark Knight, what happens to the Joker after Batman jumps out of the window to save Rachael. How did he escape the party? Certainly something could have prevented him from leaving.

Batman leaves The Joker and his gang, who are looking for Harvey Dent, unattended to in the same apartment where Harvey is lying unconscious in a closet that's obviously barred FROM THE OUTSIDE.

So... The Joker just shrugged his shoulders and left the party? He didn't even take a look around and notice that one of the closets was closed from the outside to stop someone on the inside from leaving?

Also, when the Joker attacks the police convoy, why can't they shoot back?

Disney's 101 Dalmatians, the animated version has a humorous one.

Cruella calls Anita over the phone telling her she just found out about the missing puppies from reading the newspaper.

Seems innocent enough until later in the same scene after the phone call and Roger and Anita begin arguing over whether Cruella stole the puppies or not, Anita says, "She's been investigated by Scotland Yard, what more do you want?" Um.... wait, if she was investigated by Scotland Yard, then she most certainly did not learn of the puppies' kidnap from reading the paper.

If I had a nickel for every film where Emma Stone falls off a balcony... I'd only have two nickels, but weird that there's two of them.

Avatar: why, in a world where they can remote control bio-engineered organisms and travel through space, do they NOT have fucking UA Vs? Or shit that's arrow-proof? Seriously, all they'd have needed was a few M1 Abrams, modified with life support system and enviromental seals and they'd have mopped up those blue motherfuckers.

I get they were private security and not a formal military, but you'd think a corporation with such a vested interest would have spent the little extra on those.

Some corporations aren't that bright. Look at the Peanut Corporation of America and even earlier, Enron.

Actually, there's a good reason for a lot of that: transport capacity. As in, none of their vehicles and heavy weapons were brought along from Earth, they all were manufactured on-site. Also, think about the terrain; a tracked tank would not exactly be the most useful device.

[up] A walker would be, though. grin[/sarcasm] Though I'm not entirely sure how on-site manufacturing equates to being manned, myself. Electronics aren't that hard to make if you're fine with non-integrated-circuit technology.

Da Rules excuse all the inaccuracy in the world. Listen to them, not me.

It could be they just don't have cutting edge military technology. They are a corporation, not an army, after all. And the vehicles they do have are helicopters and power loaders, essentially. Granted, they are militarized versions, but I can totally buy them as basically militarized versions of civilian vehicles.

( the real problem with making tanks is that a tank is at least twice as heavy as a helicopter, and several times moreso than the powered walkers. So, for the same local industrial capacity, you could build one tank, or two choppers, or maybe 5 walkers )

A walker is even less suited to marshy terrain than treads are and the single tank is basically invulnerable to anything Pandora can throw at it. Hell to intimidate the locals you could kill a large predator or herbivore to show them how powerful you are without directly attacking them.

Minority Report. Basically the whole thing. Precrime shows a vision of John Anderton killing someone in 36 hours. John Anderton, who is right there, decides to run instead of just going into captivity for 36 hours. Do they have no way to deal with a situation like that at all?

Also, sick sticks. Using a stick that makes people throw up on you is already a dumb idea, using it wearing a visor might be even worse.
