Wow. This has been Achievements in Bald-Faced Lying, brought to you by Emma Swan.
Also, did anyone else have the crazy idea that the guy who just showed up in town is Henry's real dad? I can't help but feel Emma's story to Henry is going to come back to bite her.
Yeah, that's probably going to be the main theory. I'm guessing he was actuallya one night stand, so it's unlikely that they'd recognize each other after ten years.
Trump delenda estEugh that episode was terrible. And what a waste of Emma Caulfield/Nick Lea. And hilarious costumes. What the hell was the queen wearing at the start? Evil art deco lycra?
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.Oh I loved the Queen's outfit, both the slin tight pants and the cute go-to-hell hat. And while Emma wasn't on much I thought she was delightfully creepy while she was on.
The Stranger is from one of "the other Kingdoms" like Oz or Wonderland. Although both have a decided shortage of hot men so probably not.

Trump delenda estBecause all little boys in this show look the same.
I wonder if that's deliberate. If so we'll probably find out eventually. If not, well, why did women who weren't Hayden Panettiere die so much in Heroes?
Trump delenda estAnywho, so, mr. new guy. Fairy Tale dude, or normal dude?
Read my stories!I don't think he's Henry's father myself, theres no way Emma would not have reconized him if he was.
It was a pretty good episode, I like how they keep tieing in all the diffrent fairy tales together, I still can't figure out Mr Gold's angle, but I'm becoming more and more sure that he remembers.
Small nit pick: If The Queen traded The Curse for Maleficent's sleep spell why did the Blind Witch have the apple?
"You are never taller then when standing up for yourself"The curse? Maleficient? Did I miss another episode, or am I just ignorant?
Read my stories!
It was back in the second episode. Maleficint traded her Sleeping Curse for "The Dark Curse" that the Queen cast that changed everyone to their Storybroke incarnation. In the 2nd Episode The Queen sought her out for a trade back.

"You are never taller then when standing up for yourself"Oh. Kay. I definitely saw that one.
Well, in Snow White, there were multiple attempts to totes kill her. Maybe they went that route as well?

Read my stories! The Blind Witch's "specialty" is making food that people desperately want to eat. The Queen then used Maleficent's sleep spell on the Apple and, as per the fairytale, somehow tricked Snow into taking a bite.

But why an apple? Why not just a cupcake or something?
Read my stories!I thought the sleep spell was the curse used in episode 1/2. The poisoned apple is a completely different attack from before Snow White got married.
Remember, episode 2 happens after their marriage. The apple happens before, hence Snow being in the coffin at the very start of the show.
Fairytale logic.

This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet. The apple is involved in the classic Disney version of the Snow White fairytale... Snow takes a bite of the apple, and falls into the sleep.
And episode 3 happened before both... Your point?
The Queen went to Maleficent because she traded the curse(the one in the pilot, and casted at the end of the second episode) for Maleficent's sleep spell(the one Maleficent uses on Sleeping Beauty). She went to Maleficent in the second episode to get the curse back...
This entire series is about reimagining, and sometimes reconstructing in various ways, I don't think that's gonna fly here. Or at least, not fly with me.
Read my stories!Oh, yeah, right. Whoops.
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.... This coming after an episode where Hansel and Gretel go to the Gingerbread house.
The details behind the stories are changed to suit the needs of the writers... But the key plot points tend to be the same. Snow falling asleep is one of those key plot points... And most involve an apple. How did Snow fall into the coma in the version of Snow White you heard?

Just because they are using the same plot points does not mean they are using them in lazy methods. Everything is given a backstory and proper follow up. Jiminy Cricket, for instance.
Read my stories! The apple was probably used because it's symbolic. If they used someone else, people would probably know what it was for, but it wouldn't have the same symbolic value. Honestly, it would have felt tacky if they used a cupcake, or something.
Also, am I the only one who doesn't have a problem distinguishing Henry from all the other little boys?
I understand that, but what I'm saying is there has to be something special about that apple that distinguishes it from all of the other food in her house. I am replying to the idea the only thing special about the apple was that it gave people "the urge to eat it" like all of the rest of the food in the house.
Read my stories! It'll probably be symbolic, or ironic.
"Snow White pissed on my apple tree!" says the Queen, "I shall kill her with apple-y retribution and torment!"
Or, you know, she was in love with a studly apple farmer, but Snow White pushed him out of the closet, or off a cliff or something.
Nope. And even then, his acting stands out as easily the worst of all of them.

Even so, if H 2 O could manage it certainly this show could. Admittedly they used a lot of stock footage but if we're only talking one episode.
