If the judging is blind, then it matters.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaYou are regarding this as completely serious.
(It's not.)
Nous restons ici.If it's any consolation, I forget people as soon as I stop looking at the conversations they are participating in, with a few exceptions, so I am unlikely to either discern your identity from your entry or have an opinion on you that might bias my judgement.
Shinigan (Naruto fanfic)im interested
will be writing a crack fic soon anyway
EDIT: Nevermind. What I said made absolutely no sense.
EDIT 2* : I've discovered that I'm at my most productive as a writer when I really, really should be doing something else instead.

Since the other contest is finishing up, I thought I'd bump this with a query on how everyone else is doing.
Nous restons ici.Y'know what... screw it, I'm in. A bolt of inspiration hit me last night.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI still haven't done the research.
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulComing along pretty well. Might have to end up trimming a few scenes, though.

Make your hearth shine through the darkest night; let it transform hate into kindness, evil into justice, and loneliness into love.I'm going to try and finish it before the month's out.
By the way, can I PM you a question? I want to make sure my idea is actually workable.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaMeh, sign me up as a judge, it'll let me release my inner Yahtzee.
No one believes me when I say angels can turn their panties into guns. Thanks I will add you as a judge :)
Make your hearth shine through the darkest night; let it transform hate into kindness, evil into justice, and loneliness into love.I think I've finished my fic at 4,832 words (including my little explanation of my fandom which I hope makes sense). I'm kinda worried that it won't go with the themes I picked out though, since one of them is only in there for a while, and another one might not be so visible. It's way too close to Na No Wri Mo for me to rewrite this...

Even when your hope is gone, move along, move along just to make it throughCompleted my research, and am beginning to write. Good thing I'm not participating in Na No Wri Mo.
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulAlmost finished. Just need to muster the will to actually write the final scene and not get distracted by going back and editing everything before then.
Rough draft completed. Anyone else want to trade stories for editing?
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulFrom this point we have one month until the deadline
Hey guys don't hesitate to register if you are participating! or want to judge
Clarification
I want to make clear something.Due to the fact that I have already received some entries. I will be a substitute judge.
That means that I will only pm the entries to the other judges. But in case a judge is unable to judge or there is a need for whatever reason of another judge (pariticipants solicit it, there is a need, sores are too close, there is a tie etc) I will judge.
Anonimity isn't a hard rule in this contest(you can make your story public if you want). But I think some people will feel more safe if they aren't until the contest is over, hence the reason I won't judge.

Make your hearth shine through the darkest night; let it transform hate into kindness, evil into justice, and loneliness into love.Entry sent! :D I hope that you guys like it. <3
Even when your hope is gone, move along, move along just to make it throughSpeaking as a judge, I have to say that I'm not clear on how exactly this is supposed to work.
Good question!
Judging is exactly the same as the other contest with this minor diferences
- Judges get more time (due to the slight word limit increase)
- There is a new section called independency (is about being able to understant the story)
- Entrants are encouraged to give a little explanation of their fandoms of choice. Due to the fact that it will be hard for a judge to know every fandom, this explanation is used to help judges undersand the story. But it must only contain what's absolutely nessesary for the story.
- If the judge doesn't understant a story even after the little explanation they can remove points.
- Rules are abit more causal given that this contest isn't as formal as the other one.
if you have further questions don't hesitate to ask me

Make your hearth shine through the darkest night; let it transform hate into kindness, evil into justice, and loneliness into love.I haven't actually judged in any of the other contests, so...
And how exactly am I supposed to read the entries, anyway? Are they sent by PM, up on some site, what?
Oh I see don't worry I will explain.
Entries are being sent to me via PM. When we get 7 entries or when the deadline is over (what happens the later). I will send each judge all the entries in a single pm (mostly links to the site that is hosting the story). Judge's deadline will depend on the number of entries we get.
Judges will grade each entry by the following criteria with a total of 30 possible points:
- 5 points: Conventions (spelling and grammar). You can remove points if the entry has a bad format too
- 5 points. Independency (How conveying your work is for someone that isn’t a fan). If you consider that the story is enjoyable even with little prior knowledge or it you may give full points. On the contrary If you conisder that the story wasn't understantable or the little explanation didn't help you to undedstand the contestant's entry you can remove points depending on your criteria.
- This section is to help judges to judge any work without being obligated to have prior knowledge of it. It will be responsability of the contest to make the story conveying for the judges that may or may not be familiar withthe work they are basing their entry.
- 5 points: Theme (how well the contestant combined the themes into a good story; whether or not the entry is within the required word count of 2000-6000). If the author didn't use any of the themes you can remove all points.
- 15 points: The piece as a whole
As a judge you will have the liberty to grade each category as you consider it is fair.
Optionally(but very recomendable) you can add a little comentary to each entry (a paragraph) and your opinion on each contestant's story.
Each judge will post their scores on this thread and based on every judge scores we will have a first second and third place. Finally I will reveal each story's author after the judges are done and we will declare the winners of the contest.

You...say that like it matters.
I mean anyone who's familiar with my recent writing history will immediately realize which one's mine. I don't forsee that being a problem.
