Bateman and Arnett have always been very straightforward with us in interviews about how far along the movie is coming, often admitting nothing much is getting done. If they say they are definitely making these episodes, I feel inclined to believe them.

Probably not. Even with Cera's salary producing any amount of Firefly is still much more expensive.
