I thought that phase wasn't supposed to start for another month...
Byte MeIt's like Christmas: it starts earlier each year.
"Roll for whores."Old news. Its been happening for months now.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryConsidering there's plenty of ammo against each and every one of the candidates except maybe Gary Johnson and Huntsman... The character asassination season is gonna be fruitful. And fun, if you're into good ol' schadenfreude.
After all, if Johnson is anything at all, that's consistent, and his stance on civil liberties is beyond reproach. As for Huntsman, he's a regular conservative, but he's not nuts and he appears quite more honest than the other candidates.

You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.And considering Rick Perry just advocated sending troops into Mexico...
Yeah, he isn't exiting without a lot of mud on his name.
This will be very entertaining.

"But I don't own a dog."
Doesn't matter. A lot of voters do own dogs" . . .
"Can't I hold a press conference and say it's not true?"
"Yes. Of course you can. But that's exactly what a lying dog-kicker like you would do."

So it seems that the Republican candidates are now starting up the awkward part of any campaign - the "since we all basically agree on policy, we've got to do some character assassination" portion of the primaries.
What do you all think? Seems that Cain is kind of reaching here, probably because he knows that Perry's campaign is vulnerable right now after his poor showing in the recent debates - you know, attack when they are vulnerable. I don't think that Perry is racist, especially after he defended the rights of Hispanic immigrants on national television (to the jeers and boos of the debate's audience), knowing full well that isn't exactly a popular stand amongst his fellow party members. I do think he is kind of a doofus, but that mostly stems from the fact that I am a secular humanist and do not believe that a day of state-sponsored prayer is going to fix the economy, but that's a whole different bag of worms.
