You use it to gain rank online, and every time you rank up you can unlock new perks and weapons to use. So if you were to buy one of the packs and redeem the code online, then you would get a 2x multiplier on your score for a small amount of time. To be honest though, the only way you'll be able to make an effective use out of that deal is if they allow you to stack the amount of time "earned", so that way you can play a whole hour with the bonus instead of just 15 minutes.
Going off Black Ops, you would use the experience to level up, which unlocks new guns, killstreaks etc. So you use experience for basically everything, as far as online is concerned.Thankfully, you still need to use credits (which is unrelated to experience) in order to actually use the stuff that you have unlocked.

My standard Anime Theme song game variant rules: [Censored by ACTA]Its always disappointing to see Pay To Win themes. This may be a relatively minor Pay To Win scheme but that is what it is. Buy this, to gain an edge in game. I would hope Skill would be a little more important than your XP in an FPS like this though :p.
Hardly. The amount of time the 2x bonus lasts is laughable, even despite the usual length of a Co D match.
which just means a few suckers will blow hundreds of dollars monthly on soda for an edge. which is really all Kotick needs to make a massive profit.
Thats the point to things like this. Most people wont do it. But enough will percentagewise that you reap tons of money anyhow,
LOL.
I like COD thougt, but I am not doing this.
Still, I am waiting for MW 3 :)
"That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death itself may die."Another reason to hate MW 3. Any chump can become a 5-star general simply if they put enough time and money into it.

Requiem ~ September 2010 - October 2011 [Banned 4 Life]30+ million copies sold confirmed.
Am I kidding?
...And yet Battlefield 3 only has about 2 million pre-orders so far.
Seriously, WTF???
I drink 48 cans of Pepsi a day, so I might as well take advantage of my habit and buy Modern Warfare 3.
Welcome to th:|Well at least they aren't just doing it for the horrid Pepsi, they're also doing it for the less horrid Mountain Dew and Doritos.
I wonder if Blizzard would profit much on a scheme like this. Maybe increased drop rates in World Of Warcraft?
Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft instead
That ain't healthy dude...
And watch as every mature MMO player leaves World Of Warcraft

The point isn't the get people to buy enormous amounts of Pepsi to get free experience, the point is to get people to choose Pepsi over the alternatives when buying soda anyway, with the incentive of a small gameplay bonus. The deal isn't supposed to make buying Pepsi more attractive than not buying Pepsi, it's supposed to make it more attractive than buying Coke instead.
I drink root beer. Screw Pepsi.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.I don't play shooters to begin with, and even I think this is dumb.

The New Age of Awesome is here! Not even the sky is the limit!I'm indifferent to Cola, but I don't like Pepsi!
Actually, I am indifferent to any kind of carbonated drinks. I prefer water, milk, juice, and alcohol (beer, wine, and mead).
I'm not particularly into MW 3 either though, but I don't exactly like how this might affect obesity ratings among gamers...
Oh well, we'll see how many who plays it that will take advantage of this offer soon...
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!So many Pepsi haters... I feel alone...
But I'm not alone in thinking this is the most most counter intuitive thing ever. As someone said earlier, all those kids hopped up on sugar, then getting online... I stopped playing Co D just because of that.
Show some love.Well it seems like most teenagers live off of Mt. Dew and Doritos anyway, so I think this is actually just an added (if disproportionate) bonus. Still, very little double XP time for a bit more cash.
And I'm not understanding the whole "Oh, people are gonna get ahead faster" mentality. If you buy the game later, you still have to contend with that. And it still kinda takes skill to score, so I doubt the no skill people who pay lots of money are going to reach top tier much faster. 2 times 0 is still 0.
If anything, it might bring the better players up faster, but they were still going to get to that higher level before other players anyway while bringing the less skilled players up to about the same levelling speed as a non doubling mid range player.

So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonI think I like Pepsi more than Coke, especially Pepsi Twist, that stuff is godly.
But I digress, I think this might have just been a poorly thought-out marketing scheme, not some malevolent greedy plan like they make it seem like.
Doesn't Modern Warfare have that...graded...match...thing that makes you play only those in your level anyway?

I played on my roommates X Box a couple weeks ago. He is level 40 give or take. The rest were 60s-70s
So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonIt's actually a deviously smart move on part of Pepsi.
By having a buy in with one of the most popular FPS series, they have boosted sales for at least the remainder of the quarter. It's a great way for them to finish the fiscal year on a high note.
I'm honestly surprised that Doritos hasn't gotten in on the action.
Tropers watching moviesUh, the year started yesterday.
So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonYeah, sorry about that. That was a herp on my part. But, this deal does seriously seem to help Pepsi more than it does on my part.
Tropers watching movies
Wait, what do you use XP for in Modern Warfare?
