Acting your age

Okay, who here thinks that s/he's either an Adult Child or is Wise Beyond Their Years?

I'm a nineteen years old...who has sense of responsibility of a twelve year old. Immature just doesn't cut it.

What do you know, I'm 20 now.

I can act my age all the time I want to.

Doesn't mean I really think my age >_<

Sometimes I feel as if I've mentally become an old man way too fast.

Not sure. I've never really thought about it...

I think that, in some ways, I act half my age, while in others I'm far older than I ought to be.

When I feel really exhausted for no reason, have no drive, and just don't like giving a damn, I feel very old. For the most of the time, like when I keep slacking off, I feel like a twelve to fourteen years old.

I'm 22 and I still titter at words that sound dirty.

Sometimes I feel like I was more mature in my youth >_>

Like I remember discussing somewhat solemnly the lewd behavior of some of the more unfortunate classmates that I called friends.

This was when I was 13.

I envy mature people. When I see kids younger than me acting more mature than me, I feel rather depressed.

I don't know, unless we're talking drugs/alcohol/etc. I would say reacting like that is less mature.

13 year olds with a 13 year old friend who has a college boyfriend...

she regularly smoked and kept caffeinated.

and she wore make-up to the point where it was almost a clown mask.

No, I don't think it's less mature to look at this situation and be kinda sad about what's happening.

In that case, yeah. You'd be quite justified feeling that way.

When I was a kid I acted kind of formal and serious, so people thought I was grown up.

Now I'm kind of immature.

Perhaps my persistent immaturity comes from a rejection of my actual childhood combined with sporadic bouts of depression. Maybe a long undiagnosed neurological disorder is at fault, as my aunt thinks. Or maybe there are just some days I have nothing better to do than play videogames, especially when I'm in a transitional period going from school to work.

I have been told I act like I'm 4 and that I act like I'm in my 20s. So, yeah.

so AHR is 24.

No wonder she gets off on bringing others pain!

Yeah, I'm an Adult Child, thank God my parents are very childish on their own too

I act like an overly petulant 40 year old who likes to skip as opposed to walking.

Some people think I'm mature. That's the firsy way of knowing they are immature.
