I honestly never realized this song was about gay sex...
Optimism is a duty.Ah, the joys of not understanding English lyrics in my youth and discovering what they mean as a grown-up.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Same here...
You can't kill art.Especially when you only hear it on the radio and have never seen the music video.
Optimism is a duty. Now that it's on YT, seems the answer as to why he didn't Hendrix Clause this one despite it being "right up to the line" was some combination of how quickly they flamed out after the initial burst of hits, so that he had an excuse to feature how much he loves Two Tribes, and just for trolling the Brits.
A lot of acts that are technically not one hit wonders still are one album wonders, or "had a bunch of hits before their first album but then immediately fell off" wonders.
I got to say, the ending was great. I didn't know about the reunion gig, and that had me hollering. Also, a very tasteful Bait-and-Switch on the AIDS diagnosis.
the statement above is falseSo, what do you guys think are the worst lyrics of some of the trainwreckord albums Todd covered?
You can't kill art."You're being a peñis... colada that is." is definitely up there.
1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (all editions) progress: 410/1089 (37.65%)That's one, but one that comes close is "Coca-Cola rollercoaster..." due to how mind-boggingly forced the rhyme is.
You can't kill art.The classic: “And I got her… grocery bag!”
For a guy nicknamed Blondie, he is not the tiniest bit blond!I don't think anything is ever going to top peñis colada, though "A Tribe Called Quest is a bad investment" has always stuck out to me because what even was the punchline there

Yes I rewatched the Run DMC episode recently. I don’t know if this one counts as "lyrics" though…
Oh yeah, and there’s "Frantic tic tic tic tic tic toc" too.

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.God, I love that loop of Durst there so much. It brings me so much genuine joy.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I think I may have gone insane or something because my genuine reaction to She Keeps Me Up was "I love this", especially that lyric.
Like, I think the flow saves it. The rhyme being so forced makes it even more impressive how good they made it sound.
Kaze ni Nare!On the topic of Trainwreckords... no doubt it's been a while since the last one, but I wonder what the requests would be like. Aside from the possible common requests like Calling All Stations, Man of the Woods, Results May Vary and The Big Day...
Still holding out hope for Union (seriously, you have some of rock's most virtuosic musicians in this lineup and you replace their parts with session musicians? What the hell, Arista!), Love Beach (spend loads of money on tours, live in the Bahamas as tax exiles and phone it in when Atlantic asks for a record), ...Yes Please! (holy shit this is one of the craziest stories I've ever heard in regards to recording history) and No Talking, Just Head (couldn't they just call themselves the Tom Tom Club?), but what else I'd consider had changed over time, that now alongside those four...
- Forbidden - Whenever I've floated Born Again, I've seen plenty of Sabbath fans defend it. However, what pushed me to change here is that I was in awe of that odd Nu Metal collaboration between Run–D.M.C. and Stephan Jenkins when Todd reviewed Crown Royal. Ice-T's not quite that much a reach (after all, not only was he in a legitimate rock band, we've had Run-DMC collab with Aerosmith and Public Enemy collab with Anthrax), it just didn't work as hoped.
- Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - Earth, Wind & Fire's cover is phenomenal and Aerosmith's cover has fans, but it's fascinating seeing how almost everything else did not pan out. It certainly wrecked multiple careers, especially RSO Records, The Bee Gees and Peter Frampton, so I'd love to see this get explored.
- The Beginning - That I remember Todd reviewing the group when they were still relevant makes me feel old.
- Door to Door - Something I haven't thought about, but it's definitely something that is worth an autopsy. A massive sound-changing album, followed by a just as massive greatest hits album that reinvigorated interest in their old sound... and after this got released they called it quits through its underperformance.

1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (all editions) progress: 410/1089 (37.65%)I'd love an episode of Happy Mondays. I love the UK scene from that time, there was some really interesting things cooking, but it all got sidelined by the more mass audience friendly Britpop.
Interesting fact about the ...Yes Please! sessions is that the studio they stole equipment from belonged to Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz. The legend is a bit embellished though, as Tina and Chris insist they only stole some lounge chairs. But as Tony Wilson quoted someone else saying, print the legend.
the statement above is falseOh, and it seems Timberlake released a new album this year, so maybe that Man in the Woods TW is close at hand (unless the album is successful I guess).
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Well, that new album got pretty mid reception critically and didn't even make into the Billboard 200 (although it's been out just nine days), so maybe...

One of the biggest names in 90s country music. So big in fact that she crossed over from a mostly insular market (and that says something considering country hit a massive commercial stride in that decade).

You can't kill art.Wait. Is he claiming that her career wasn't destroyed by the attack on Pearl Harbor?
The review is now up on YouTube.
Unlisted. I'm guessing released too early?

1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (all editions) progress: 410/1089 (37.65%)Here it is. And yes, he does mention Pearl Harbor\"There You'll Be" (one of three songs I know from Faith Hill) as a possible turning point for the misguided New Sound Album.
Now on YouTube. And I just knew the credits cover would be the way I met that song.
