Yeah, I like that one better than the current.
First key to interpreting a work: Things mean things.I'm against it. It doesn't show anyone dying due to their own stupidity.
The current one doesn't either, really, and I'd welcome an improvement, but it's better than the suggestion.
This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish.Agreed on all counts.
Current one is great, since it shows her leaning towards the "Death" sign.
But I could do without the black boxes.
Well, if an unknown person put up giant signs labeled 'safety' and 'death', are you sure picking the former path would be the best option?

This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish. It's not about dying because of stupidity, it's about "The character who puts life and limb at risk by doing things that no sane human being would do." They have to put themselves at obvious risk of harm, but they don't have to actually die.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Meh. This trope has suffered from misuse as a synonym for 'Dumb, period.' I don't think the suggested image would help its case.
Isn't there some gamer webcomic strip about suicidal escort mission NPC AI we could use? Something like the pic on Escort Mission, but not that one.
This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish. There are a lot of potential images for this, and some candidates could be found by google searching darwin awards... for now, here is one candidate.
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon Stewart
That can still be interpreted as simply 'dumb'. An appropriate image would be someone sawing off the branch they're sitting on while there's a pack of hungry wolves waiting below.
This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish.Well, I already recommended google searching Darwin awards.
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartI'm okay with the branch one.
Fight smart, not fair.If someone could put a wood chipper under dude sawing the branch, that'd be an improvement for sure.

I am fine with the current image.
I'm seconding keeping the current pic.
But the current pic is also the image for This Way to Certain Death, so one of them needs to be changed.
I say change Too Dumb to Live, then, as there are plenty of alternatives for it.
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartAgreed; it's a clearer pic for the other page.
I disagree. It's Not An Example on the other page. I think it needs to be replaced.
That trope is about dead bodies (or other evidences of death) warning the heroes about imminent danger.
Don Rosas Treasure of the ten Avatars Contains a whole bunch of these. The best panel I found was this one◊. An alternative would be this one◊, but I think it suffers from a lack of context.

This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish.Alternatively, there is this from XKCD.
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartIf the trope doesn't require actually dying, then what about this strip from Lil Formers? If it does require it, then never mind.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. That might be better for Humans Are Morons.
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartI'll make a thread for that.
EDIT: Here.
