I hated the man's politics, policy, and what he's done to the country.
I dont hate the man. That's just immature. I wish him and his family the best of health.
When we say we hate politicians, the saner ones hate the politician, not the actual guy.
Sadly, some seem to think the two are the same...
But, it's good, if the man gets to be a grand-dad. It's not too shabby a role. It's more stressful than his previous one, though.
Stressful? Pff, that's when you get to have fun with the kid and then pass 'em back to the parents when they get fussy. That's the fun time.
Is this... really even an issue to discuss...?
I mean the girls aren't having kids, are they? Not like that matters itself.
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorI hate Bush, but I've got no beef against his daughters. I wish them good luck (with their father's reputation, they might be in for a rough ride). Still, I can't help it but hope most Bush genes prove recessive. If they do not, poor grandkids!
You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.Bush Senior gets to be a great grandpops right?
Also inc polarizing opinion: There were worse POTUS's *coughcoughCoolidgeccoughEisenhowercough*
Dutch LesbianI like Bush, as a person. He's actually rather nice and amusingly funny, and not in a "he says stupid shit" way.
I disdain his foreign policy and think he was inept at domestic policy, but I like him. Can't win 'em all, it seems...
I am now known as Flyboy.Like David Cameron. Goddamit, the politician is a huge-ass prick, but he's not too bad a person.
Bush Juniors foreign policy minus Iraq was as good as Clintions actually.

Dutch Lesbian@whale: Eisenhower wasn't that incompetent. I think he's among the top 20, although he wouldn't make top 10.
Bush's right there in the bottom 5: Along with Coolidge, Reagan, Buchanan and Andrew Johnson.

You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.Iraq discounts everything else, frankly.
Depends on how you phrase the question. Is it just domestic policy? Do you like the highway system... at all? Then you can't say shit about Eisenhower.
I would also argue that there are probably worse Presidents than Bush that can go in the bottom five...
I am now known as Flyboy. No child left behind, the worst thing to happen to education in a long time, says otherwise.
USAF: Tbh, you'd be surprised what Bush did. He was well loved in Africa and Eastern Europe.
edit: Was no child left behind done abroad?

Dutch LesbianAmerican education. sorry.
The Iraq War cost us trillions and accomplished not a damn thing.
Frankly, if we hadn't done that Iraq War, we might not be on the edge of complete paralysis at the moment...
I am now known as Flyboy.NCLB... what were the basics of that? I forgot.
We can agree that Bush will never live down Iraq and deserves the blame on whatever came from it.However, the truthers saying that Bush planned 9/11 is just crossing it.
Standardized testing to gauge student achievement and accord funding for schools. Consistently failing resulted in government intervention in the area for the failing schools...
I am now known as Flyboy.Yeah, because anybody would kill their own citizens to spend trillions into doing jack. Honestly, these truthers...
That doesn't sound too bad.

The pressure to succeed was immense, and teachers ended up teaching the test material instead of the actual class subjects...
I am now known as Flyboy.I really don't believe the truthers mostly because if Bush failed in foreign and domestic policy then how could he come up with this plan and get people to work together to make it work.I do say he should have handled Iraq better and focused more on Afghanistan.
Anyway I remember one of his daughters got married a while ago.Plus I think he would have more popularity with his grandchildren.
I have to say I wasn't very fond of Bush in office, but my opinion of him has improved since then. He would have been a footnote in Presidential history but then got handed one of the worst domestic security crises in recent history. His policies were bad and he appointed the wrong people into office, but he was trying.
I've also got to say, I do respect him for keeping the ultra-conservative, Islamophobic section of the Republican party in line. He was very explicit in office that the war was not for religious reasons and that the terrorists who orchestrated 9/11 in no way represented Islam as a whole.
What about Harding?
This.
I can say I don't like his policies, I can say he made mistakes, and hell, I can say he wasn't the best leader. But I cannot say—and would not stand to hear—that I don't respect him, that others shouldn't respect him, and that he didn't do what he could with a (series of) shit situation(s)...
I am now known as Flyboy......What exactly is the topic of discussion here?
Dumbo
You know you might hate the guy with all your might but he is at the age where his daughters are getting married and its a matter of time before they have children of their own.
I wonder if one of the daughters if they have a son George Bush the Third or a girl Georgina.
