... Argh, bad thread title. No cookie for me.
Thanks, Willbyr.

I fixed it, don't worry.
Motion to pull
The pic doesn't illustrate the trope at all.
I'm not exactly sure how we'd go about pic'ing this one to start with.
The three stooges? No one remembers what the movies they did where called.
Cause anyone that old is dead or someone who we don't care to listen to.
Please.A decent example, but how would we go about making a pic of them that would demonstrate the trope?
The trope itself seems a bit problematic, or at least there are a lot of weak examples.
Jet-a-Reeno!... I guess throwing up a pic of them and saying "can you even name one of the 190 movies they did?" is a no.
Please. That's toeing the JAFAAC line...might not be crossing it, but it's close enough that eyebrows would get raised.
Yeah... I know, but honestly where are we going to find a lampshade, really the only way to avoid eyebrows.
Please.Any suggestions? I think webcomics might be useful for finding a lampshaded example, but I can't think of one myself.
Anyway ... not sure if I need to say this, since I started the thread, but I support pulling the image.
I understand the logic for the pic.
Voting to pull.
Please.Support the pull.
It's a visual pun on a trope with an ambiguous name. Furthermore, it's a JAFAAC-y visual pun, as it requires familiarity with the character to get it. It would make a great illustration for a trope about crotch bulges, though. This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish.Support pull.
Fight smart, not fair. What about the poster for First Blood?
I want to put this up for a rename, but the backlog needs to be cleared out.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Suggestion: maybe we can find a title card of a movie or something that says "THE THREE STOOGES" (or other example) in really big letters and than "in <title of work>" in really small letters right under it?
Clock is set.
Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No further action is to be taken based on this thread.
The Reverse Shazam article shows ... some guy on a throne, with dead bodies lying around it. There's no caption providing any clue, either.
The article itself is about characters who overshadow the work they're in. The guy in the picture is presumably an example, but you have to read through almost the entire Comic Books example section to even find out who he is:
...wait, is he even an example? There's no mention of people remembering his name more than the title of Shazam. Or does the page just have a picture of him because he's the opposite of Captain Marvel, who is not Shazam? Please, no.
