She's going into this much faster than expected.
I'm trying to read Dotty's expression in regards to Joyce cleavage.
I wasn't gonna say it but I guess Carla said it for everyone
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Oh yes makeup, a perfect opportunity for Carla to casually mention something that brings Joyce up to speed with her trans status.
"Jugs" is the gift that keeps on giving.
Joke? Why are you calling it a joke? You drew a picture of two dudes hugging and wrote "I love hugs!" on it.And for Joyce to not get it.
I'm all here for the make up crash course trope. It brings me glee that Carla is the authority here given how Tom boyish she is a lot of the time.
Edit: have we ever actually seen Carla's room? It's going to be wall to wall Ultra Car poster and roller Derby kit isn't it.

Did... did Joyce forget about the shower shoes Carla made for her out of milk jugs? Even the alt text jokes about that being the reason for the name, I just can't tell if Joyce literally forgot how Carla saved her from the detritus.
Vegeta: I'm back bitches!Carla would be the one who knows the most about womens' makeup.
Ukrainian Red CrossShe transitioned as a child, so she might never have needed it to "pass" but none the less this implies there's a unexplored femme past to Carla that intrigues me.
It's relatable. I'm also a skater chick who nonetheless remembers how to contour from days when my transition was less secure.

Ethan and Sarah is the friendship I didn't know I wanted.
The irony of the first panel is palpable

Look at those little criminals, subverting society itself!
The Hooch Place won't know what hit it.
There is a side of me that wants to feel bad because the comic is depicting underage drinking, but then I remember they are both over 18 and USA's drinking age is a weird exception to western civilization that probably only exists due to religious puritanism, so I don't personally care.
Drink away girls.
I wonder if Joyce knows she is at least going to have to sign a paper saying she is a dependent college student with her parents if not file taxes herself yet? She will probably get a rebate though.
That and our unusually high level of car dependence, which meant a lot of people, especially teens, were getting killed on the roads in rural and suburban areas (or so I've heard).
online since 1993 | huge retrocomputing and TV nerd | lee4hmz.info (under construction) | heapershangout.comNot to mention that differing age thresholds across state boarders was encouraging alcohol tourism, which resulted in putting intoxicated young adults on the road.
The easiest solution was to bring everyone in line with the more puritanical states.
Speaking of drinking and driving
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Dorothy's statement worries me slightly. I think it is perfectly honest and straightforward of her to point out that she may not be quite as conscientious once she is buzzed to drunk, but it is a reminder that Joyce does still need looking after, and that she might wind up in trouble without Dorothy shepherding her.
