That post is dripping with sarcasm, yeah.
*atonal guitar riff* Well, here comes the pain.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117Good! I understand stuff then!
Anyway, new strip.
I feel dirty, but I am with Malaya on this one. Sal is being a big ass here, for no apparent reason.

On one hand, Sal has made her dislike and jealousy of Malaya clear at nearly every opportunity, but Malaya's natural abrasiveness doesn't exactly help matters either.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Sure. But here Sal is the one who called Malaya to hang out. But she also decided to insult Malaya at every opportunity gratuitously. Sal is the one who is "trying" to make an effort to like Malaya and, yet, she is pointlessly antagonistic before Malaya even showed up. Even if Malaya wasn't and ass she would still be pretty annoyed in this situation. Everyone would and with full reason.
If Sal is not even going to try to be friendly, she shouldn't have called someone she hates to hang out.

I'm kind of with Malaya on this one, too. Sal is kind of being an ass.
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.I'm not even going to take sides, they're both being an ass.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Slipshine senses tingling.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."Has Sal been in and won a fight in this comic?
Because, seriously, stabbed in the hand, Malaya was kicking her ass....is the "tough girl" thing an act?
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117I do have to agree that Malaya definitely had the advantage (And knowledge that a Groin Attack works no matter your equipment), though we don't know how the fight would've gone if Marcie hadn't intervened.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Okay where does the notion that Malaya is a total asshole? All we got in DOA is that she somehow joined Sal's delinquent gang despite Sal's arbitrary hate of her. She even managed to get along perfectly fine with Marcie. She was very cranky over Sal's treatment of her, but who wouldn't?
We have read Shortpacked.
Anyway, Malaya is not a "total asshole". She is mostly just annoying. And I agree that in DoA, she haven't been nearly bad enough to justify Sal's arbitrary hate.

One: with fifty thousand characters running around sometimes you've gotta take certain character dynamics as read. Two: we've already established that, regardless of how awful Malaya might be, Sal's real beef is that she's monopolizing Marcie's time and she feels lonely.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. And that's why I'm on Sal's side here. She's willing to put up with Malaya's "I'LL FUCKING KICK YOUR ASS" bullshit to get her friend back.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117i cant side with either
i agree with most of what malaya has said tho.
i was almost about to say how the way sal is treated is like a cult but then i actually thought on it and basically the only people who idolize her like that are joyce and becky and maybe one other person.
I'm kinda with Carla here. Sal is being possessive without doing anything to actually participate with her friend.
As far as I see, Malaya just wants into the group. Sal rejected the fuck out of her, so she connected with Marcie and Marcie accepted that.
And we have our next SlipShine.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117...Except Sal is clearly not willing to put up with Malaya. Absolutely nothing Sal did ever reflected any actual willingness to be friendly.
Also that. Malaya is obnoxious, but she is not the one expecting others to conform to her. She got a friend who she likes to hang out with and said friend reciprocates. It is Sal who has a beef and is possessive of her friend and interfering said friend's social life. Sal could simply not hang out with Malaya and let Marcie spend her time as she wish.
Is that a surprise for people? I was kind expecting that, to be honest.

PLEASE link the exact Do A comic that you saw and thought to yourself, "Marcie wants to fuck Malaya".
Because you're either fibbing or seeing shit that ain't there.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117Actually, I asked Willis if Marcie was still polyamorous in this universe and Willis said that Marcie's ongoing deal with Malaya was "supposed to be illustrative of how she's more free with her love than Sal is".
Sooooooo yeah, called it, but I can't claim I did so fairly. (Or publicly, so not like I can accept credit.) But I can say that there was definitely subtext that someone could reasonably find without fibbing.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Well that's still not a DOA that explicitly illustrates that, but rather carryover of personality from other comics. Without that, the very few comics with them in it don't show anything but "more willing to make friends than Sal is".
I just thought it was a possibility giving how close Marcie was getting to Malaya. Nothing more.
Well the reading wasn't wrong per se, just your interpretation of it

This is sarcasm, right? That college students are not know to get drunk, I mean. Sorry if it sounds dumb, but some cultural customs of the US are hard to grasp.
