In before "SECRET BUTT FUN".
did I have to put that in first?
The Adobe Flash Hub show second only to My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic.
I kinda like this show better than FIM, though FIM is, of course, better than it. I like this show more because it's more down to Earth. I just wish the human characters were a bit more likable, even though they're side characters to the dogs we came to see (Olaf's okay, though. I respect that he loves his job, and dog catcher is a hard one, but how does anyone put up with a douchebaglike Mc Leash!).
Also noted, thanks to some improved animation and a proper stepping back from letting the "Get x/and y or more adopted" plot for the most part to give characters actual development, this show is slowly starting to find its deservedd legs. And I WANT IT TO!
This show is actually enjoyable. Nothing groundbreakingly excellent, but still really, fucking enjoyable. A lot more than that god damn original series this is based off of (What a bunch of shit that was IMHO!)!
I'm just glad someone finally made a topic on it. Now I just wish this show would get some Itunes if it can't get a DVD release soon enough...

They were able to get Betty White as McLeash's mother!

And she is likable. She managed to tame what would otherwise be the show's most annoying side-character (Rebound).
My Fair Rebound is so far my favorite episode in the First season because the writing/editing made an otherwise annoying character (Which Rebound comes off as sadly) vulnerable and worth rooting for at the end of it.

Not like FIM is. For me, that's a good thing! I still don't get all the love for that show and how this gets treated like dirt... At all. This show does not deserve such negative reception.
I think it's okay. It's not something that interests me, but I would leave it playing if it started on TV. I like how they don't make the dogs anthropomorphic like the original cast was in the old show, and there's less sugary cuteness. Also, they got a lot of Los Angeles actors in the cast!
I think the art style turned people off. The humans turn their heads in profile, and they look disturbingly like they came out of South Park!
At least you gave me a key reason WHY its animation/art stylings (or lack of, to most, sadly) are ragged on for this show. Also, you know why I enjoy this show, too, besides them being real dogs...
People will make the excuse that FIM spolied us with how Flash should be utilized. I'll disagree for the sake of not being a fanboy of that. But you can't argue that FIM IS just that- An example of how you do Flash right. This show will never get that kind of recognition, so I just hold out a sense of hope that the writing and characters stay good and get better. If only beause, to me, animation is only ONE factor of a cartoon (Though a major one, never forget!).

I like that my thread is going so well. but I'd still like someone to give me a different interpretation on the whole coyote thing other then, "Lucky is racist". maybe I missed something but Lucky never apologized to Fang, this issue is unresolved.
The people who work on this show wish they had fans like that.
http://s1.zetaboards.com/Conceptual_Evolution/ http://sagan4.com/forum/index.phpWith MLP:FiM, people praise the animation errors and turn them into memes!
With PP, they want to burn the errors with fire and never want to see them again, which is the usual reaction to Flash shows.

I do want to talk about other things but the unresolved "coyote racism" thing is still bothering me. Lucky is supposed to be the good guy!
To be honest, I can't get behind this show. I hate that it goes for "real" looking dogs instead of the obviously-cartoon anthropomorphs of the eighties. Speaking of an eighties vs 2010 comparison, why the heck do we have this new guy Lucky and his friends? Where are Cooler, Bright Eyes, Nose Marie and them? I understand in the case of My Little Pony, they couldn't use the old characters for copyright reasons, but is there a similar story for Pound Puppies?
Granted, neither version is very good, but I find the 2010 version is less fun.

I disagree. I like the old version but the new version is better in some ways. and a lot of animated films and shows go for a realistic animal look, they're just really intelligent.
You're asking something that doesn't need to be asked. They INTENTIONALLY created a new cast. I got over it, they got over it.
I was a little unsure about the change in characters too but got over it fast.
Me, too. prefer them as real dogs who only speak amongst themselves, rather than them being a bunch of eventual Rule 34 fodder to be played with that we see too much of.

in the new version, the can talk to humans, they just have a rule about not doing it unless they must.
I can't wait to see an episode where they have to do that, too!
they have actually, the humans just don't know it.
and I can tell you neither version of the show has avoided the Rule 34 treatment.

There's little to no Rule 34 of the 2010 series... You're even safer if the show doesn't get popular enough by the first season's midpoint. People won't draw Rule 34 of a show if said show is not worth writing home about. Some will, sadly, but only so little.

this thread can be about anything on this show but first I have a question. is Lucky racist or something. I can kind of let "Catcalls" go because even at the end, the Kennel Kitties were assholes. but in "Rebel without a Collar", Lucky never never apologized to Fang the Coyote and never seemed to realize that he's really a Jerk with a Heart of Gold.
