I expect that the release of the 3D version will draw a lot of attention to this page and its subpages. I would like it to be optimized for convenience before said version comes out. What I had in mind was designating different users to scan different sections to check that:

  • 1. Stated examples of tropes actually ARE examples of those tropes, and...
  • 2. Thoroughness is balanced with conciseness. (I get the impression from the length of some trope lists, and some entries within each, that it`s imbalanced in favour of thorougness.)

Yeah, seems good enough.

Another question; isn't the description a little spoilerish? Leaving spoilers unmarked in the trope list is understandable, as it makes more sense to wait until you've seen the movie to read the trope list, but should we really spoil that Scar planned Mufasa's death for those who come across the article before seeing the movie?

I always thought Scar's Villain Song was well-known enough that It Was His Sled.

Scar is Obviously Evil so I'm not worried about spoiling that he's the bad guy. If anything I'd want to avoid spoiling to someone unfamiliar to the film that Mufasa dies—it's not a twist per se, but it might take away from the emotional impact of the scene to know it in advance. Maybe. *shrug*

Rhymes with "Protracted."

[up] Probably would take away from it. Disney villains usually don't succeed at killing off major good guys. That, and some viewers might expect him to have a last-minute change of heart before doing so.

Okay, so we could zap that bit, maybe move the whole plot summary to Synopsis. The Lion King, and replace it with a one-line laconic description of the plot?

We also have some generic Natter and Example Indentation cleanup to do, looks like.

Rhymes with "Protracted."

[up] What kind of examples are you referring to?

Judging by the fact that the 3d version has already come and gone. I would say this is done.

The description still needs a clean-up: it shouldn't be full of spoilers like that.

How's that.

I removed the spoiler about scar, and then shortened the paragraph after.
