Its pretty fun and the open guild vs guild wars can lead to some fun moments.

Last weekend, /a/'s guild Touch Fluffy Tail and /v/'s No Fun Allowed got into a very awesome battle with the leaders coordinating where to fight.

/a/'s elin army was too much for /v/ [lol]

Can you please help me? The game runs pretty well for a few minutes, then starts getting all choppy, even though my computer has the proper drivers, space on the hard drive, enough processing power, ram, etc. :(

This happens even in low settings, even though I never had this problem when playing the beta.

What are your computer's specs, may I ask, Stevebat and gamabunta?

Single core 3.2 ghz. Intel Celeron 352. Motherboard is ancient and video card is slightly newer. 1.5 gig of ram.

First, the ram. 1.5gb is a bit low, then again I don't know what your upgrade options are. You may be using DDR 2 stuff, and that is going out of production.

Any upgrade path to Pentium 4? Single core/single thread is a bit of a limitation even at a high clock speed. Then again, boards that take Core 2 Duo processors are scarily cheap now, even on Ebay, so you may be better off going that route.

There are a lot of folks out there getting rid of their Core 2 Duo and even Sandy Bridge motherboards and processors to get the Ivy Bridge stuff.

[up]As much as I appreciate the advice I am replacing the entire goddamn computer in a short time. The whole thing is rather too old for modern gaming.

In my case, it's weird: it functions perfectly for a while, then freezes for a few minutes, after which it keeps functioning perfectly. According to the spec detector, my pc fills all the requirements :S

graphic G Force 9500 GT with updated drivers. In the support forum they say that one should remove asus gamer osd for the game to work well, but I don't see that program installed in my computer.

cpu: 2 processor running at 2.7g according to tera's system diagnostic.

3.25 gb ram (win xp); directx 9.0C installed.

[up]Hmm, that doesn't sound too outdated, and you are on the limit for system RAM for Windows XP anyway, so more RAM isn't going to help. Could be poorly optimized coding on the part of the game itself, which isn't too unusual. I would use Task Manager to kill any programs you aren't using or going to use when you are playing the game before launching it to see if that makes any difference. Windows XP, from memory, can get snippy if it is asked to do too much work.

[up][up] If you are getting a completely new system, I don't think AMD is a fair thing to plump for just now. Their Bulldozer platform isn't worth getting at the moment, and the next gen version of that, Piledriver isn't due to come out until the third quarter this year. I love AMD, all my graphics card choices have been theirs or AT Is for a while now, but the Intel processor/motherboard chipset stuff has been better across the board for years, ever since the Core 2 Duo came out in fact.

[up] Indeed. And I'm far from the only one with that issue: the support thread that refers to that issue is already 30 pages long :|

By the way, thanks a lot for your help :D

Sorry I am not much more help. I haven't ever played the game but I did have trouble with World Of Warcraft at the beginning of that game experience for me, and I had it on Windows XP. The only way I could get it running was to nuke all the applications that I wasn't using.

At long last I managed to fix the problem :D

Turns out, my graphic card was overheating, reaching 114 degrees at it's peak. I don't yet have a fan for graphic cards, so I just took a regular fan (those that are used on summer, like this: )

I just reached level 8, and so far the game looks AWESOME. I hope to face my first BAM soon :D :D :D

I was rather aghast that this thread was revived for game news but then I did a quick search and realized that we don't have an official thread for it yet. I've been leveling a Baraka Berserker for a bit and it's interestingly the only class that's forgiving of high ping due to the innately slow animations. That does mean I can't block-cancel though.

There are far fewer Elins than the interwebs led me to believe and far more Aman, including females. Also surprisingly many Popori. Elves, Castanics and Humans are dominant, though, and Baraka are still rather under-represented despite how cool it is to be able to look most mobs in the face while smaller races stare at their belly or crotch (though that could just be my own preference).

The main bottleneck for subscriptions is going to be the system requirements. En Masse's client at least eats memory for breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper and the tea breaks in between - though for some strange reason allocating a ridonkulous amount of virtual memory solves most of the issues more handily than several arcane system tweaks I tried.

Had to delete a good portion of stuff to make room for the game, up to and including a few Steam games I hadn't touched in a while.

Although the diagnostic said my laptop isn't fit to run TERA, it is able to. Not at the best frame rate, but still. If I ever do get a more powerful laptop, this'll be the first thing I download.

Before the patcher was changed from that screen filling mess to a more sleek appearance it was giving me trouble with even starting up the patcher, but now that's a thing of the past. Went with an Elin spellcaster.

This game seems to be just what I've been looking for. As soon as I upgrade my PC, it's the first thing on the list. Speaking of which, do we have a thread for computer advice (as in, what to buy)?

It annoys the hell out of me for some reason that nearly all of the female toons wear sidesaddle. On top of their... wardrobes. And their Combat Stilettos. And they're not even riding proper sidesaddle! They're just sitting sideways on the mount!

Also, female toons Gainaxing in metal armor is more Squick than Fanservice, IMO.

So, what are the restrictions? Love how half these games are dying to tell you they're "free" but never want to mention what is free. The Secret World made it nice and clear that the full game is buy to play with optional subscriptions.

It's actually... kind of hard to tell since they don't really advertise the restrictions when you create an account. Based on this page, it seems like most of the restrictions are economy-related. You get less bank space, can't send very much money at a time, and have less max "broker" listings (which I assume is an AH or something). Also you're limited to half as many daily quests and dungeon rewards per day. Oh yeah, and you get less character slots.

Other than that, there seems to be a bunch of purchasable hats and mounts and other cosmetic stuff, along with increased EXP gain packs for leveling. Although how mandatory those are depends on how long the grind is, and I'm only up to level 10 so far so I can't tell.

Anyway, it specifically claims that you still have access to all dungeons and classes and whatever, so the restrictions are mostly geared towards people who play a lot.
