I knew a man Bojaeger and he'd dance for you in worn-out shoes...
but HOW?My first thought is that after seeing how clutch the sword was in the first movie, they're emphasizing melee weapons with the new models. Hoping they aren't all backflippy breakdancy as the red one seemed to be, though. The ponderousness and relative grounding of the jaegers was one of the highlights in their designs for me.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.One-man Jaegers do have one advantage: there might be more emphasis on ones *besides* the lead since there won't be too many characters fighting for screentime. Cool as two people driving the same machine is, this setup will make it easier from a film perspective to have multi-Jaeger sequences.
I like them being more agile, since we're seeing new tech. But I'd really need to see how it works in film, i.e. still giving off a sense of weight to their movements even with the added agility.
I always dug the hell out of the two-man jaeger system for thematic reasons. It ensures that nobody gets to be the lone wolf asshole, because you physically can't engage in giant monster fights unless you can make a connection with at least one other person. But it sounds like they're still going strong with the cooperation thing, so I'm willing to wait and see how this plays out.
Instead, you got two be the pair of Double Dragon Assholes.
That Jaeger video was like watching an actual anime, except in live action. I kinda love that.
MORE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT JAEGER NEWS.
Gipsy Danger is getting a spot in Bandai's Soul of Chogokin series of high-end giant robot figures!
Seriously, do Guillermo Del Toro and Travis Beacham know about this? Because this should be epic news for them especially.

Looks like I was right about Stacker's son being like Shinji Ikari.
With a '0', not an 'O'I like.
I really like.
It seems like to make up for the lack of Del Toro's unique style, they decided to ask "How can we make this more anime?".
I like how, judging from the official synopsis, they're also going all-in with the brother/sister angle between Jake and Mako. And also Mako apparently taking Stacker's place as leader as well.
Things look really, really anime what with the brighter colors, bigger weapons like that bigass katana & the Jaegers appearing more acrobatic.
They also all resemble Striker Eureka somewhat though that makes sense since Striker was the most advanced & highest performing model were it not for its systems getting fried. Though I'll miss the more weighty & brutal models in Cherno Alpha & Crimson Typhoon.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I want confirmation that the other Jaegers will be more than canon fodder this time.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. At the very least, it looks like they're going to survive to the final battle. Maybe they'll immediately get Worfed to demonstrate the big guy's power while Jake and Mako go in for the kill, but I suppose that would still be better than the first movie.
It definitely looks more action packed than the first film, with a wider variety of set pieces. Was curious about some Jaeger vs Jaeger action. I did kind of like that smaller mini-mech, as it reflects that the technology is filtering into other areas. The Jaegers thankfully don't look anywhere near as colorful as that earlier promo image, as the look of the movie seems fairly close to the original. But all the others do seem homogenized in design, all with similar proportions and defined more by weaponry, rather than broad design differences like three arms or nuclear silo head.
Kaiju/Jaeger hybrids.
Fuck yes!
Maybe it's just the trailer but hardly any of the Jaegers and Kaiju look like they have much weight to them, when compared to the ones in the first movie. Not sure if I like that. Besides that, it looks pretty good.
This song needs more love.I felt like I was watching a Transformers trailer. :/
but HOW?Way too many static, followable shots for Transformers.
My various fanfics. Not enough blatant racism and fanservice for Transformers either.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Yeah, Boyega would be listening to hip hop. And he'd have a grill.
And he wouldn't be the main character.
My various fanfics. As well as no cringy comic relief.
I think what made the Jaeger's lack weight is that things are going by faster & there's less emphasis in the nuts & bolts inside each plate. Gives it less of a sense of grandeur & majesty as well as not fighting in hellish storms & such.
Hopefully not all the pilots are young people cause ya gotta like the physical & age diversity the last crew had even if most of them were killed off in the first fight.
Also I really like the song they used, whats its name?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
I don't really play video games so I didn't really know who she was. I came for the kaiju on robot action.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
