I hate this site. It's prententious, smug, self-indulgent / self-important attitude in everything they write make me detest it. It's essentially Pitchfork Media, only it reviews multiple forms of enterainment.

And the people on the site have these attitudes of sounding extremely snobby.

Yet, why does this site get liked, and not get picked on like P 4 K, which I detest, but give me a good reason why the site isn't total garbage.

I think this thread is legitimate. Dude doesn't like the AV Club and he wants to know why people do.

I like it because I think they make interesting and thoughtful analysis on current media.

Right. As much as the fact that this site doesn't get the derision of P 4 K makes my blood boil every single day, espically when I'm not in public, I want to know, why do people like this site?

1) What is P4K?

2) Maybe you shouldn't take stuff on the internet so seriously?

3) Why do people like it? Because "they make interesting and thoughtful analysis on current media."

If you want something to add to that, I'd say it's the fact that they present it in an easy-to-digest way.

1) Pitchfork Media, the most infamous site on the web for their converstially snobby and prententious reviews, it's been mocked and derided on the internet, including this wiki.

2) The site gives a headache, I'm sorry, I just detest it, and the fact that no one else on the internet, apparently, except me, makes me more frustated. And the fact that Pitchfork gets ridculed, while The AV Club gets off scot free annoys me too.

3) In my opinon, NO. Their reviews are filled with this idea that context has to be given to something, and looking for meaning and subtext when it isn't there or is flat-out non existent. They drone on and on about stuff that is sometimes flat-out unrelated to the thing their reviewing, and have this tendency to be so incredibly and snobby high minded.

And their stuff is like so long, my long, the walls and walls of text make Tim Buckley look mimalistic in his use of words.

Bitching Threads die a horrible death here.

They're locked up and thrown in the garage to rot and be forgotten.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
