Huh. That happening with [ ~ = = ~ ] style wicks is a known bug, but I've never seen it with non-ptitle wicks before. Maybe it's still related somehow?

I believe the wicks reappear in the related search, but not until the page they're on is edited.

Bumping this thread, since we also experienced this problem during the If You Know What I Mean cleanup.

Yes. For some reason, when a page is cut, the Related To page is blanked and refills only gradually as the pages on which the wicks were are edited. It is a huge annoyance. If it is possible, this feature of the cutting system must be removed.

I changed those (they were curly-bracket wicks, which didn't get changed by the find-and-replace script), and I tried to search for any others but the search maxed out on forum threads. Is there any way to restrict the search to non-forum pages?
I don't think that forum wicks are actually supposed to show up in Related To.

Forum wicks do not show up on related pages, nor should they.
The ability to correct wicks after a trope is cut would prevent misunderstandings like the rejection of the request to cut Really Big Gun
. Of course, then there's the matter of, "Shouldn't the wicks be cleaned up before the redlinking?". Really though, they shouldn't, in case the cut is declined for a different reason, in which case it would be wrong to remove the wicks.

I'm talking about using the Google search option, not the "related to" search. Is there any way to restrict it to non-forum pages?
Calling someone a pedant is an automatic Insult Backfire. Real pedants will be flattered.
The Google search is administered by Google, not within our control. It can make all manner of bizzarre things, like showing nonexistent pages...

It is possible to make Google search just return wiki articles. Precede your search term with "site:tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/". (Forum urls will be excluded because they lack the "pmwiki.php".)
It still has some issues, since it can still give you pages that haven't been created yet, or pages that just happen to be next to the search term on an index, but it's better than nothing.

Scientific Progress Goes Oi was recently cut. It's blue again because I was fiddling with it trying to understand the following: it has wicks we need to fix, but the search
turns up blank.
(Steve Irwin was also recently cut. The search in this case working.
So perhaps it is some other issue, not related to the article being cut.)
