Motion to pull
Pic shows the sparks but not the actual strike.
Here's a crop of a static pic from a trailer for the new Conan movie. Also, the swordfight between Blade and Deacon Frost in Blade is one of the best examples of this I've ever seen, but I couldn't get a cap that was clean enough to use.
Vote to pull the current one, and ^that one is excellent.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.We need to educate some people on how these threads go...someone put that pic up already.
That seems extremely subdued compared to most examples.
Bah my attempt to find the Angel Beats one (which the sparks take the form of ones or zeroes) failed... I just can not find a good shot [1]◊.
Sentai would probably be a good source.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Oops. Sorry for jumping the gun. The new suggestion gets my vote.
It may not be all that flashy, but it's clear, and that's what ultimately matters. I don't care for that Angel Beats pic at all...it's got a lot of the same problems as the current pic.

Agreeing with the foxed one and red eye.
Please.I said I couldnt find a good one...
Really we want one that you dont actually have to really look for.
I am going to keep looking.... Lets see Dissidia has a good one sephiroth vs Squall in the OP FMV going to attempt that.
Bah every sword contact in the entire movie goes sparky but man cant get a good shot even at 1080p.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Any way we can shop a few extra sparks on that Conan pic?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Because the picture is actually pretty good save for not that many sparks, so adding more would make it great, and save some time looking for other pictures.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Seriously though, I think the sparks in the unedited picture are visible enough. They contrast well with the background, and the image is quite free from distracting elements.
This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish.I'm not for or against adding sparks (I can see them well enough in the original), but you could at least make the added sparks a bit less distracting. I can hardly tell that there's more than one sword.
Well, that was an ironic suggestion. I should probably have clarified that.
This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish.I think the unedited Conan pic is the best. Too many sparks really just makes the image less clear.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickYeah, the original version of the pic works just fine.
Reaction Image RepositoryI'm cool with unedited Conan.
Fight smart, not fair.Unedited conan.
Please.Unedited Conan.
I put up the Conan pic, seeing as we have a near-universal consensus for it. Do we want it to have a caption, or should we leave it as is?
Reaction Image Repository"Good job ruining your blades, idiots."
Honestly, I think it works well enough without a caption, but I'm just throwing that out there.

Locking up.
It's got the sparks, but it's difficult to see that there's actually a weapon involved between all those dark tones.
Let's do better?
