Because of course she does.
Trump delenda estThis just seems really awkward in general. Sure, we need The Watson to request details on the various elements that are in play here, but does she need to specifically ask the guy who's trying to chair the discussion? Even if I was a council member that was 100% on board with Ingsol here, I'd still be wondering why the hell he doesn't delegate explanation to his two subordinates.

Off-panel, someone has to be wondering why Maxima didn't do that earlier.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. You think the reason(beyond rule of comedy) why Sydney's beds seem to wear off at inopportune moments is because one of the mystery orbs removes toxins from her body?
That's an interesting idea. Kind of makes me wonder if maybe her pepper tolerance also went up after the orbs. She is, after all, apparently at the upper limits (if not beyond) for human tolerance.
Good question... But, why a passive effect? All the others require that she actively be holding them and deliberately engaging them.

This can only end well.
@1059 Well, keep in mind that there are some things about the orbs that even Sydney doesn't yet know. Maybe some of the nodes on her "skill tree" are passive effects, and they just haven't figured out how to test for those specifically yet.
The idea that she's able to metabolize a drug faster is an interesting one, but I'm not sure how to test it safely. She's too used to her ADHD medication, she'd actually have to be suffering from an ailment to see the effect of most OTC drugs that aren't a potential abuse risk, and you certainly don't want to risk the ones (like sleeping aids) that are.
@1060 I can't see how it could end any way other than well.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I am sure random faceless goons appearing is not going to be a bad thing.
"You can reply to this Message!"Unless Maxima has a weakness to magic, she can take out all four of them by herself with no trouble at all.
Ringtones go off in a meeting, door go boom
I have to give Sydney credit... she concisely summed things up, and just in time to be dramatically appropriate.
First, video gaming anal moment - there was no "hammer music" in Super Mario Bros. Does he mean the hammer music from Donkey Kong, or the invincibility music from Super Mario Bros.? Yes, this is the kind of thing I obsess over.
For the action, I somehow suspect Maxima is going to block that projectile... looks kinda like a grenade.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Maybe it's the Hammer Bros theme from SMB 3?
Okay, I have to admit, disassembling a grenade mid-flight is just about the most badass thing I've seen in a comic in ages.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Call me racist if you will but I have no problem seeing all mannequins as evil. Well maybe not the ones who turn into hot women.
Trump delenda estMore casual racism and Dabbler nearly gets penetrated, and not in the way she'd prefer.
I had honestly thought the "mannequins" line in the last comic was Sydney commenting on the faceless nature of the armor and presumably that the guy who hit her had been ragdolling. I didn't realize they were supposed to actually be non-living animate beings.
For once, I think there was not enough exposition - I'm not sure how Sydney knew that these guys were specifically golems of some type instead of magically-enhanced living beings.
Also, fairly certain that nobody is going to object too strongly if you use lethal force against the people who tried to ambush everyone with lethal force (and who took the first shot). I mean, they'll probably ask that you try to leave at least one alive (for questioning and the like), but hey, accidents happen.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. She could see the magic squiggles allowing them to move thanks to the yellow orb. It wouldn't take her long to realise that magic squiggles + mannequin = golem.
After all, it's the yellow one's job to show her what is really going on. And, that would include "those dudes aren't dudes".

I guess having a character flirt with a suit of armour may be some kind of first.
= Spindriver =
And, of course, the sensual nature of it is its own trope.
