The movie better have the Konami code somewhere in it.

The movie better have the Konami code somewhere in it.

Hey, they mentioned it on their Facebook!

Um, I learned a few more things about the pies in the online game lately. I noticed they don't always disappear when you get killed, although they can; it doesn't seem consistent. And I did get a pie from a window I was already standing on, so there's no need to camp out exactly on the last broken window if you're waiting for a pie. Not that I know if the number of repaired windows makes a difference to the timing of that...

Also, I noticed that the end-of-level bonus is a function of the remaining seconds, which means that pies aren't worth obtaining if you have to wait through 20 seconds of non-fixing idle time to get the next one, I believe. So for levels 6-30, if you haven't already seen a face in a window before you're done fixing, it's probably not worth hoping for another one. One more thing I noticed is that the time stops during Felix's death animation, so if you are running out of time while Ralph's still doing a lot of wrecking and you have a life to spare, you might want to try just taking a hit, since in effect you'll have instant Mercy Invincibility to use to try to clean up the last few windows directly underneath Ralph in the last few seconds.

Anyway, I'm beginning to see just how far the developers didn't expect you to go, as once you get into the triple-digit levels, the word "REACHED!" hangs off the bottom of the airplane banner! Seen here The game didn't seem to be getting harder since level 50 or so, either; I only had to stop at 949300 points because the unwinnability bug struck right after that, or otherwise I could have made it to a million points easily! I'd like to see what happens to the score at ten million...

I don't own an iPad, but I watched a video of it here, which I'm using to try to pick up on all the significant differences. Some things that could make it harder are that there are two more rows of windows, many sprites look comparatively larger, ducks appear as early as level 1 and seem to be able to change rows, and although it's still automatic, Felix now has a brief jumping animation to get from window to window, meaning that strategies involving zooming from one side of the board to the other may not be as viable; and instead of always standing on the left side, Felix stands on the side opposite the last horizontal direction he jumped from. However, at least in the early levels, some of the windows start off boarded up so you'd never have to fix them, and Ralph's bricks all cover a single column beneath the center of his graphic, rather than the somewhat nebulous range of bricks in the current Flash version that extends quite a way to the right of Ralph's graphic. Someone who has an iPad should tell us more when the game's available.

You mean they didn't include an ending if you win?!? Aww.

It's looking that way. I was hoping to get to level 256, to see if they threw in any "8-bit" glitches. smile But still, for Niceland Apartments to have over five hundred forty floors is quite impressive! The tallest skyscraper I read about from a quick Google search was only 163 stories tall.

If Felix-It Felix, Jr. has gotten tiring, has anyone else tried the "Wreck the trailer" game you get if you watch the trailer on the site all the way through? I discovered there's a "sweet spot" you can hit, between the center and right edge, off the ground enough you'll want to do a small jump, where you start to hear more metallic crunching noises and see a gash open up in the backdrop. Punch it enough times, and you'll reveal some computer parts—are those wires held on with a piece of Scotch tape? This seems to be a good source of points too, but even aiming for it every time, I was only able to get a little over 65000 points, well below the built-in top score of 200000. Am I missing something? Or is the game playing too slowly in my browser with how that page is set up, the way the video in the trailer and the animation in the site intro also are choppy and lag behind the sound?

I don't know how "sharing" your score works exactly, but I like how clicking the option to do so makes a littler Ralph sprite appear, like he's walking on a world map. smile

Ralph's going to be in the Sonic and All Star Racing Transformed.

Character total in the film is around 182.

Hey everyone, I have some more news about the Fix-It Felix, Jr. game! And it's not just about how I figured out that the unwinnable level glitch is probably triggered by fixing a window at the exact same time Ralph's bricks break one, or about the life-sacrificing shenanigans I got up to in order to make pies appear at slightly earlier times on the clock and thereby scrape a few hundred more points out of the early levels. No, more ports of the game are on the way!

First, this isn't really a port, but the same Flash game you can play on disney.go.com is also available on Facebook. High scores don't transfer between these sites, though, and the special Leaderboard feature added to the Facebook app appears to be limited to whatever Facebook friends you invite to it. So it may be a nice way to have a private competition, without some other Disney gamers' scores like 1.3 million hanging over your head. smile

Now then, the iPhone & iPad version has been released as a free download on iTunes. But here's a video of someone playing it, in case you're like me and don't happen to own such devices.

And here's the cool part of the news: The arcade cabinet is for real now!

Or at least it was at that Comic Con. Is this the final version? I also found a video that has no sound, but does show what the cutscene for winning a level looks like.

I was considering writing up a long, boring list of all the important feature differences between all three versions, but I think it will be more fun for everyone to experience it for themselves and remark on what's most interesting first.

An arcade machine of the game was unveiled at last year's Disney convention. It's been in existence for a while.

But the only machine they actually displayed was just a mock-up demo video, wasn't it?

Obvious ones are Bowser, M. Bison, Zangeif, Clyde, Kano, and Dr. Eggman/Robotnik.

The zombie is Cyril/Flint from the original House Of The Dead, the rhino is Neff from Altered Beast.

Unsure about the robot, the demon, (I've heard the Horned Reaper from Dungeon Keeper and Diablo, but it doesn't look like either.) the blue-skinned girl, the ninja(?), or the crowned Beholder.

Don't take life too seriously. It's only a temporary situation.

The robot vaguely ressembles the default character in Cyborg Justice.

Just thought it should be mentioned that apparently, Hikari -Instrumental Version- one of the themes of the Kingdom Hearts series is playing at Wreck it Ralph meets and greets at Disney parks, alongside videogame tracks and music from the pokemon games, the Sonic The Hedgehog games, and the Tron games and others.

So a little bit of KH representation is nice. Unless this should go in the thread in the Western Animation section or the Kingdom Hearts thread.
