My lack of knowledge comes from not owning a PS 3 or 360, and Sega's odd decision to not make a quickie Wii U port.
I had assumed there was kind of a Sonic/Knuckles dynamic. Mostly friendship with a bit of rivalry and some past enmity
So, should I pick up a copy of Bayonetta 1 for my PS 3 before this comes out?
I have a message from another time...The Xbox 360 version is the definitive port, but the PS 3 version is not as bad as I think people think it is, if you install it directly to your hard drive, that is.
Watch SymphogearProbably should, if only to get familiar with the lore.
Wonder when Sapientia will show up, since two of the other Cardinal Virtues have returned and it appears that its niche as the water boss has been taken by the new giant Inspired-esque boss.

Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle. It doesn't look like we'll be fighting the Cardinal Virtues directly, rather they'll be fighting one of Bayonetta's Demons in the background of one or more fights with the Sage.
So Sapientia and that new water boss could both be in the game.
Umbran Climax◊I don't like that it looked like some parts had you controlling that little shit with the Millennium Puzzle. Those parts are going to suck.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. How can you say for sure?
For all we know the kid has an interesting and unique playstyle.

Umbran Climax◊He seems like he'll exchange weapons for a more direct style of fighting.
Watch Symphogearas was said, 360 bayonetta is the best version, with 60FPS a lot of the time. PS 3 is fine, I think it averages 45 FPS most of the time, but the highway fight is absolutely awful on it. I think it's sub 30s there.
Very big Daydream Believer. "That's not knowledge, that's a crapshoot!" -Al Murray "Welcome to QI" -Stephen FryThe part in Balder's tower with the rotating blocks is also pretty bad.
So that puts a dampener on the idea of the Lumen Sage not being completely antagonistic, or a woman. Still might try to pull off Samus Is a Girl, but that'd be kinda cheap.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.The kid doesn't seem that annoying so far. His voice at least seems easier to bear than that of most child characters (perhaps the accent helps?) and his gameplay sections probably won't be too bad if they're brief.
...I think he's either a young Rodin or a relative of sorts(maybe a child)? We never actually see Rodin's hair color.
The trailer reminds me of Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped where the masks fight each other while you fight Cortex.

That's why he wants you to have the money. Not so you can buy 14 Cadillacs but so you can help build up the wastesThaaank you.
I'm buying a Wii U soon thanks to this. Any reason I should splurge for the upscaled version?
Bleye knows Sabers.Yes.
And get The Wonderful 101 (another Platinum Games game) while you are at it, too.
Watch SymphogearThe Masked Lumen appears to have the same height as Bayonneta, wears high heels and has a light version of every power avaiable to her.
I seriously consider this "guy" to be actually Bayonetta's self who was locked away in Paradiso to never know darkness, the Bayonetta we all know and was raised as an Umbra Witch is actually a Time Paradox created by Balder whose entire tenure of reviving Jubileus was actually a desperate gambit to have his daughter freed from her time prison.
So now that Jubileus got destroyed and Paradiso is in a tight spot they let out Sage Cereza fully trained and equipped to match Bayonetta while dressing and acting like a man to honor her father.
Before anyone ask, a masculine voice means nothing when Nintendo has the likes of Sheik going around.
Also, the misterious kid will probably be the Overseer in child form. He gives those godly vibes but probably became a kid after using most of his power to split the original Jubileus into Queen Sheba and the current Jubileus and putting the later to sleep.

I had a dream that they made a Bayonneta movie, and Charlize Theron played Bayonetta.
She might be able to pull it off.◊ Just dye her hair black and let it grow long enough to cover her whole body.
For some reason, I'd like to see some sort of Dynamic Difficulty system like in God Hand, if only for a specific mode.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle. Some of the reused bosses and such has me slightly worried admittedly. Didn't really want to see the Laguna bosses back...
'Cept you don't fight them directly anyway, they fight your demons in the background while you battle the Sage.
The closest you get is one part of the trailer suggests the Sage has a Lumen Climax that involves team attacks with the angel he's summoned◊, but even that's not the same as fighting them directly.
Anyway, I saw Bloody Fate. As expected, everything is super condensed, so the pacing is weird. Some elements of the story have been changed/added to. The most significant being Balder and Rosa's backstory, in which Balder did legitimately love her and only wanted to remake a world he saw as corrupt after being forced to separate from her. Not sure how canon these changes are, tho.
Animation is great in some parts and not so great in others.

Umbran Climax◊
Also betting we'll get a boss fight with Phantasmaraneae. And that they will be a first phase mimicking the Phantom Boss Fight.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...
