Too rare to trope? Bad name? Both?: This Bed Of Roses

I like that Statler Brothers song, but this trope is no good. There are 8 examples listed and only two wicks from works pages.

Given the puny examples list, I'm tempted to call Too Rare To Trope — I can't offhand think of any works where this is a plot point besides the trope-naming song. What say you?

A hooker taking somebody in for a place to sleep sounds quite trope worthy...

But my god that name is so bad.... "a bed of roses" is usually literal or someone laying in down with Rose petals around them.

The actual name is "This Bed of Rose's", as in "bed belonging to Rose".

I don't think that was supposed to be a holler.

If there are 8 examples, the only reason for there not to be at least 8 wicks is if we don't have pages on some of the works the examples came from.

It's a custom title on a ptitle. Those don't always behave properly.

Also, looking at the examples, it's not that most of them don't have pages, it's that it was simply never crosswicked.

Hooker Takes In A Stray would be a good title for this at minimum a clear redirect.

Do we have a trope where Hooker with a Heart of Gold is doing it to take care of family? Reading this trope really made me think of something like that actually.

As the creator of this trope, I'd say Hooker Takes In A Stray would work. Better prosaic and precise than catchy and confusing.

I still think it's Too Rare To Trope if we can only come up with 8 examples.

Well, officially, we only need Three Examples And A Name, unless that's changed. Also if it's only got 8 examples, it's not like it's going to be seen very often unless one of those is one of our big-time pages.

I think the name has some of blame there, A good name might get more Wiki Magic.

(I usually like 10 examples for a YKTTW launch, but for something like this 8 is pretty good.)

Reading through the comments, it seems like most people agree it can/should stay, but needs to be renamed.

I have no firm opinion on whether it should stay or not, but if it does stay, the name certainly needs to change.

Hooker Takes In A Stray is good. Not clever or witty, but good, nonetheless.
