Buy or borrow it in paper form. There are footnotes everywhere in House of Leaves, and not just an entire chapter of them: they're upside-down, scattered in paragraphs, in spirals and other shapes. There's even a music stave at one point.

I may be biased against electronic books in general, but I still think that making House Of Leaves into one is a horrible, horrible idea. I don't think it could work in any medium besides the printed page.
http://manbehindthecurtain.ieHouse of Leaves is impossible on an eBook reader, its like asking if a picasso would work without the paint :P Without spoilers, the whole climax and associated meta-ness would just fail massively...
Danger's over, Banana Breakfast is saved. FC: 0576 - 4632 - 1517Although if something House-of-Leaves-esque could be designed for an e-reader that would be amazing. Just not House of Leaves. That was built to be on paper.
i. hear. a. sound.Oh f zerky's life. 3 copies of it in all of her city's libraries - all checked out with 19 holds. 2 copies in the city over, 5 holds. The small bookstore near her doesn't sell it. The large bookstore near her is out of it. The closest bookstore with one is two cities over.
Looks like it's time to hit up Amazon.

House Of Leaves could probably be adapted to online or e-book reading, but definitely not as a PDF. 0_0
The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeable
Apparently there's an entire chapter composed of footnotes, which will be hell to navigate on an ebook reader that *doesn't* have its page jump function broken.
There've been comments about reading House of Leaves as a .pdf being like watching an HD movie on an ipod screen in some places, which leads zerky to believe that there's more to watch out for than just the footnote chapter.
Would it be advisable to just buy/borrow the damn book?
