I want Tales of Versus, Valkyria Chronicles III, and Final Fantasy Type-0 for the PSP, but right now Type-0 seems like the only one that even still has a chance to get localized...
Welcome to th:|If Sega can market the game in that Ni S Niche way, then I think it could make money. But I also know that for larger companies it can be harder for them to release games on a smaller scale.
I'd really love to play this game in english, and I'd be more than happy to sign whatever petitions or whatever is made in support of it. At this point though, I think the best chances to play it in english may to be to see if it ever gets a patch in the distant future. Shame too, because by all accounts, it's MUCH better than VC 2 (which imo was a very good game on it's own, even if the tone didn't sit that well with me.)
Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft insteadUnless a smaller studio can wrench the game out from Sega, I have doubts we'll see this. Sega has been open that they're done with PSP in the west.
Didn't the series director say something about trying to bring it back to home consoles?
I think the only hope of seeing VC in the west is if it comes back to the PS 3.
Or hops to Vita maybe...
Regardless on how it gets done, Valkyria Chronicles III must get to America no matter what!
If they're worried about the PSP's lifespan, they should just release it for the PSP online store, since as I understand it, the Vita will be able to play such games.
I really hope they change the style of the story back to something more mature and bearable. The second game's whole "military academy/high school" schtick along with the characters was ridiculous.
This poll here is a pretty big chance at a localization.
It is fair to note that even if a game wins a poll or has many votes, there is no guarantee that it will be localized. The poll’s purpose is to allow LAI to go to the publishers with some extra ammunition to help convince them to localize the game. If you ever wanted to see any of these games localized in the West, this could be the game’s best chance! So if you see a favorite game on the list, be sure to vote for it and send it to everyone you know to vote for it, as well.
Today, we bring you the first of hopefully many articles based on this partnership. As you will see below, we have two polls—one for SEGA games, and one for Konami games. These companies were chosen because LAI has worked on localization projects with them in the past. In case you are not familiar with any of the games listed, we have also provided descriptions so you’ll know what they’re about. Be sure to use the comments section to let us know why you voted for the game or games you would like to see localized!

The Konami choice was fairly simple, but why the heck do they force us to choose ONLY ONE out of the whole Sega lineup?! I would've voted for both Yakuza games and Valkyria Chronicles III if given the chance!
I really hope they succeed at persuading the powers-that-be to let them localise VC 3.
And bring it to the Playstation store as well: currently I don't own nor plan to own the PSP or Vita, so I still wouldn't be able to touch it if not.
If they localize it, I will totes buy it.
So be honest with me: what are the real chances of this poll doing anything note-worthy?
I voted for VC 3 too, but seeing as how it's a vote for a PSP game to come to the west...I'd say keep your eyes on the patch still .
Sgt Ricko, how would bringing a PSP game to the Playstation Store help you if you don't own/want a PSP or a Vita? I can see if you just didn't own a PSP because you could download it for your Vita, but with neither, it won't make much of a difference.
Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft insteadSimple: it means that they might make a downloadable PS 3 version of the game. Which, I would definitely buy.
Also, if they were portable first, they usually don't get a console port to go alongside it.
Then I guess K-On is a bit of a pioneer in some respect — Houkago Live was released as a downloadable on the Japanese PSN. Sega developed it, so them doing something like that for VC3 wouldn't be unheard-of.

This is pretty hype. Hopefully, it'll be successful enough to lead to the rest of the games being ported to PC.
Lord, PLEASE let it appear on Steam!
^ It's Sega, if it's not on Steam, something is REALLY wrong (except the MMOs).
But yeah, waiting to play this too.../me tried to play VC2 on PPSSPP...or was it JPCSP? But performance is poor...gotta try again?

Give me cute or give me...something?
I read on Japanator that a group called the Gallian Liberation Front is striving to persuade Sega to publish Valkria Chronicles 3 (PSP exclusive) in English. Story here: http://www.japanator.com/join-the-gallian-liberation-front-for-valkyria-3-justice-20212.phtml
The writer admitted that internet petitions don't tend to succeed. I felt that he was correct. However, I don't know if social media campaigns have made much impact.
Likewise, I don't know how receptive Sega is to its fans. The company seemed to be stumbling in early 2010, when it released some games with little to no advertising. The English version of Valkyria Chronicles II was among the games that did not seem to have much promotion.
It looks like the lifespan of the PSP in the west is almost over. A few companies are still releasing full retail games and trying to reach niche audiences: Atlus with Persona 2, Aksys with Fate Extra and Hakuouki, and recently NISA with Black Rock Shooter. But when I look at the other upcoming PSP games, I don't see much besides a few reissues, annual sports games, and movie tie-ins. So it might be tough to persuade Sega that there is a genuine audience ready to buy another Valkyria Chronicles game.
