Ugh, pull it.
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.
What is this from anyways? Maybe we could use Wallace or Dr. Doofenshmirtz. I would suggest Professor Farsworth, but his inventions usually work. I'll look for a good picture.

Get a slant at this glossary of Pulp Detective terms. It rates. Pipe that?Panels 3 and 4 for sure, and possibly panel 2 for setup.
That works.
"Crazy old Maurice" from Beauty And The Beast comes to mind; perhaps something of him tinkering with one of his machines while it's evidently malfunctioning might make a good image?
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartThe Bob And George one is pretty good. Anything else? It's hard to show this...
I don't have Beauty And The Beast on DVD so I can't get a good picture.
You're talkin' a lot, but you're not sayin' anything. — Talking Heads, 1977I dunno about the Bob and George one myself it's a bit stilted to me... how about this?

What's the invention in the Bob and George one?
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyThe short guy is a robot. Which could be a problem if people don't realize that.
Reaction Image RepositoryI'm not seeing "bungling" in the Bob and George one at all. Just stupid.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.From the trope description:
"The inventions might... do their primary function but have some subtle flaw" Or big flaw in this case.
But, yeah, upon retrospect, it doesn't come through he's a robot if you're unfamiliar. So I'd say I'd vote against it, as well.
I'm thinking any potential image would probably need to be two or more panels, and I would think there would be a lot of examples from superhero comics to choose from.

Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No further action is to be taken based on this thread.
There's a gray-haired guy with a remote and a polar bear? Doesn't show the trope at all. The caption doesn't even help, and the picture doesn't link to anything.
