Since I don't believe in Converting for Love I guess the real question is would a conservative marry me?
hashtagsarestupidThis, too
If we disagree, that much, at least, we have in commonYeah, I think Joey's hit the nail on the head. I mean, the whole contraception/abortion issue comes into play for some of us (after all: I can't date a girl who doesn't lemme wear a rubber and/or isn't on the pill) but for the most part, I'd like to think that I could put aside our differences, even if it has to result in the occasional playful eyerolling.
But not everyone takes well to playful eyerolling.
As a libertarian troper, I find the idea of marrying a conservative to be quite easy actually.
TU NE CEDE MALIS CLASS OF 1971But but in Euroland, a conservative and a libertarian are ideological opposites. It would be like the North Pole saying they wanted to marry the South Pole.
Edit: Why would you find it easy??
I am going to make a film about it and it will be so sad that people would cry themselves to death.

Dutch LesbianThat is a tragic tale fret with heartbreak and woe.
too many films are about people triumphing over at adversity any way, it gives people false hope.
hashtagsarestupidThing is, the whole "conservative", "liberal" or what have you question is a bit misleading. This one does not believe that love overcomes everything (or, rather, not romance kind of love), and each person probably has issues and topics difference on which would be unacceptable for them in romantic relationship.
But, as far as this one is aware, there is no single position - even on one topic - each and every preservative is required to adhere to. Just like there is no single position that has to be shared by all liberals, or anyone else.
If it so happens that people have opposite political leavings, but are similar on the number of key issues that are important for them in romantic relationship - why not?
Likewise, it is quite possible to have incompatible values differences with someone of one's own political spectrum.
However, likelihood of that is rather slim. While no single position defines political leanings, it would be a rare liberal/conservative/libertarian/socialist/what have you who's opinion does not match the opinion associated with their "side" on multiple issues. Like, 10 or so. Otherwise just why they associate with it?

If we disagree, that much, at least, we have in commonWell, political polarization being what it is, it's not that far out of the question to imagine someone to run with one party because they consider the other big one worse and none of the rest even have a discernible say in anything.
You know... I don't think that I've ever met a Conservative in the flesh before. Yeah, I don't think I have. I've never met anyone in the real world who admits to having ever voted for the Tories. Maybe when I was in England I guess I'd have met some but that was years ago.
Of course, having lived in Glasgow my entire life that's probably to be expected.
And let us pray that come it may (As come it will for a' that)@OP: If you ask my gf, the answer would be yes.
Fusionism and I watch Fox News Channel aka Fair and Balanced aka The Power to Inform, Fox Bussiness Network aka The Power to Prosper, Glenn Beck Television, and listen to talk radio. Also, most liberals don't really care about our different opinions on social issues and box us in with conservatives alot of the time.

TU NE CEDE MALIS CLASS OF 1971Well, tbh, the Fox News Channel would just die if it had to subject its self to what OFCOM consider to be fair and balanced.
I am fairly libertarian and no-one would consider me to be a conservative
But ontopic:
I would rather eat my own face than date/marry an American Conservative.
Dutch Lesbianwhale@ I am not that evil and I want to make this world a better place.
Probably not, but I've been influenced too much by Fox News and have a poor image of American Conservationism. However, not wanting to date/marry one does not mean I hate you or other US conservatives and we couldn't be friends.
Dutch Lesbianit depends on if we got along good, and how we interact. if i loved them, i would, but we'd have to agree avoiding talking about politics. That would be hard for me as im rather strong willed, but i might manage.
I'm baaaaaaackthough if they listend toall the garbage coming out of glen beck i dont think i'd be abel to stand them.
I'm baaaaaaackWhat so bad about dating a conservative?
I wouldn't want to be in a relationship where someone tried nagging me about my atheism or Keynesian Economics or whatever.
Then shut up and enjoy the sex.
If I just want sex, I'd be pursuing a one night stand, not dating/marriage ;P
But it's a limitless supply...
In my previous relationship, I ran out of interest before she did, so, there's always that.
DAMNIT WOMAN, I'M NOT A MACHINE!
That sucks.
edit: ignore, I am dense
