I'm going to call foul just because it's so damn big...
I am now known as Flyboy. The top two rows are all that apply to the trope. The bottom two rows are pointless.
Crop it thus:

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.It was too adorable to pass up◊...
I am now known as Flyboy.Demonstrative and funny.
I TELL YOU HWAT!I definitely like that one.
That works well enough for me.
Well, in the meantime, while we wait for more suggestions, I'm going to go with...
Motion to pull
As per OP reasoning: too wordy, too big of a picture, and not enough of it is relevant.
I am now known as Flyboy.Maybe just this part of the comic?

I like it. The machine dealie on the left really gets the trope across. We could probably crop the rest of it out if we wanted.
Fight smart, not fair.I like the 'adorable' one above.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyThat's better, but it's still kinda meh for me.
I think that Schlock Mercenary page is not a good image source. Isolated panels are wordy and need stuff coming before and after to make proper sense.
Bump. This is my original suggestion, the "adorable" one...

I am now known as Flyboy.I love the adorable one, it gets the idea across and is easy on the eyes.
Face the past and you'll fly ass first into the future. - My DadThe problem is that "test-tube babies" is only part of the trope, and the smallest part, to boot. The important part is "deliberately altered before birth through genetic manipulation."
How about this one?
this one

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Accurately encapsulating the trope is the main point — surely more important than a visual pun, even if it is nice. I'm with Maddie on this one.
I find the test-tube image works against the trope in that the happy chap crawling out of the tube says "normal / ordinary" to me. Gattaca Babies are are modified.

That's an interesting pic, I like it.
Well, I'm not finding anything that's better than what Mad has—curse you, slow internet!—so, I'll support that one...
I am now known as Flyboy.I like Madrugada's fractionated baby picture more each time I see it. A baby divided into parts is definitely in the right area.
this picture◊ was suggested after an unrelated discussion in the 40k thread.
But I think Madrugada's pic looks better.

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."That might be good for Uterine Replicator.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickGod yes, whoever put up the Sclock pic clearly didn't know what they were doing.
Fight smart, not fair.
Over sized, wordy, and esoteric. Why, just why?
