Maybe we should just merge the two, and make a new page for My Ex Is Off Limits?

"It takes an idiot to do cool things, that's why it's cool" - Haruhara HarukoWe don't merge.
My Ex Is Off Limits is a sub-trope of Bros Before Hoes, in that you're considering how your Bro would feel about you dating his ex, and placing that consideration above the actual relationship between you and the bro's ex.
If we keep The Bro Code as a name, it's going to be for a different article, possibly an index. Not sure if such a thing is needed, but whatev.
Why don't we merge, exactly? If the two titles are getting confused with each other, making one into a redirect to the other would clear things up.
"It takes an idiot to do cool things, that's why it's cool" - Haruhara HarukoBut they represent two different, but closely related tropes. You can't just merge them.
No, I was just suggesting merging the titles, so that the broader trope is known as either Bros Before Hoes or The Bro Code (with the other title serving as a redirect), and the specific "don't sleep with your friend's ex" trope is given the new title My Ex Is Off Limits.
"It takes an idiot to do cool things, that's why it's cool" - Haruhara HarukoBut the Pre-existing term "Bro Code" refers to a set of rules that encompasses My Ex Is Off Limits and Bros Before Hoes. Having that name as a redirect would add to the confusion.
I've actually seen "the bro code" used exactly the way we have it, and in a broader sense of an unstated set of rules that bros are supposed to follow. So, I think the problem may be that there is no "correct" definition. It's an ambiguous term, which makes it a terrible choice for a trope name.
The other one still needs to be renamed to fix the spelling error, of course.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.
The Bro Code sounds like a term used to describe how bros are supposed to interact. "Don't cock block" sounds like something you'd find in The Bro Code.
Fight smart, not fair.
