I disagree, however I opened a TRS as well, we'll see which is locked.
If it's not, I will restate my opinion here.
I don't feel that "part of a flash back" is a noteworthy differentiation. I think this trope should be Child Abuse Played for Laughs.

Seriously, why are some of these examples in here about abusive childhoods currently happening. It doesn't fit the trope at all, especially if they're Not Allowed to Grow Up. I had to delete some of the examples (from South Park and The Simpsons) to avert Square Peg Round Trope, but there's probably still more. We should fix that.
