By the way, I found out how I got that secret of skipping levels. You have to shoot one of the rocks in the first level with the Power Gun. You can get a wrap that will take you to the second-last level. Also, I found out that in the second last level, if you shoot one of the rocks with the Power Gun, then you can get a warp that will take you to the final level of the game. There is a You Tube clip showing that it is possible to beat the entire game in 6-7 minutes by exploiting these secret warps!
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!I remember playing the first game on Apple II. It wasn't all that self explanatory, but it blew my mind as I was playing it, even though I spent the longest time on Star Fox SNES a week prior (we owned an apple two well unto 2001, then it died :P).
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.I have to say that Gir Draxon definitely has a Darth Vader voice and the You Have Failed Me attitude to go with it. Yeah, when The Dragon Raf inevitably fails and has to explain himself to Draxon, Draxon was not pleased. I was pretty surprised at how Draxon just pushes a button on the side of his chair, which opens up and fires a laser gun on the wall, and it vaporizes Raf (except for his eyeballs, which are left to bounce around on the floor). Is that serious Squick or what?
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!Yeah, I played the hell out of that game too. Also, there's a warp in one of the obstacles on level two that takes you to (I think) level five as well. As far as I know, the only levels you can't warp to are three and six. I'm pretty sure there's eight total.
Stellar 7 is an interesting game. If you are curious to know what it's about, you can find out here.
I played this game as a kid. I was never able to beat it. I could beat the first level, but I never managed to beat the second level. There was one time when playing the first level, I managed to skip to either the last level or the second last level. Unfortunately, I do not remember how I managed to pull that off.
I can promise you that it is a tough game. I mean, you ride around in a tank-like vehicle and shoot up tanks, turrents, bombs, and other things. Not to mention Big Bad Gir Draxon, an evil dictator who looks like several features of historical conquerors and dictators were all rolled up into one person.
Has anyone else played this game or other games of this series?
